Method of producing sulfur-depleted syngas

A system and method for processing unconditioned syngas first removes solids and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOC), then removes volatile organic compounds (VOC), and then removes at least one sulfur containing compound from the syngas. Additional processing may be performed depending on such factors as the source of syngas being processed, the products, byproducts and intermediate products desired to be formed, captured or recycled and environmental considerations.

CATALYSTS, RELATED METHODS AND REACTION PRODUCTS

The present invention generally relates to improved catalysts that provide for reduced product contaminants, related methods and improved reaction products. It more specifically relates to improved direct fuel production and redox catalysts that provide for reduced levels of certain oxygenated contaminants, methods related to the use of those catalysts, and hydrocarbon fuel or fuel-related products that have improved characteristics. In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a method of converting one or more carbon-containing feedstocks into one or more hydrocarbon liquid fuels. The method includes the steps of: converting the one or more carbon-containing feedstocks into syngas; and, converting the syngas to one or more hydrocarbons (including liquid fuels) and a water fraction. The water fraction comprises less than 500 ppm of one or more carboxylic acids.

Process for removing oxygen from a hydrogen stream

An adsorption process is provided to remove oxygen from a hydrogen stream through the use of a copper material in combination with layers of adsorbent to remove water and nitrogen from a hydrogen stream. This process is particularly useful for purification of hydrogen product gas from water electrolyzers with the hydrogen product gas having greater than 99.9 mol % purity.

Method of Producing a Cooled Syngas of Improved Quality

A system and method for processing unconditioned syngas first removes solids and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOC), then removes volatile organic compounds (VOC), and then removes at least one sulfur containing compound from the syngas. Additional processing may be performed depending on such factors as the source of syngas being processed, the products, byproducts and intermediate products desired to be formed, captured or recycled and environmental considerations.

Separator system and tar reformer system

A separator system for treating a gas from a biomass gasification system, including: first and second cyclones, where the first cyclone includes an inlet for receiving a gas from a biomass gasification unit, the first cyclone being arranged for removing particulate matter from the gas from the biomass gasification unit in order to provide a first cleaner gas, piping arranged to lead the first cleaner gas to the second cyclone, where the second cyclone is arranged to remove particulate matter from the first cleaner gas in order to provide a second cleaner gas, a pipe arranged to lead the second cleaner gas to a special piping element, the latter including a burner, thereby providing a third cleaned gas, and a gas distribution unit arranged to lead the third cleaned gas to one or more tar reformer units. Also, a method of treating a gas from a biomass gasification system.

HYDROGEN PURIFICATION/STORAGE APPARATUS AND METHOD USING LIQUID ORGANIC HYDROGEN CARRIER

The present disclosure relates to a hydrogen purification/storage apparatus and method using a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC).

A METHOD FOR GENERATING SYNGAS FOR USE IN HYDROFORMYLATION PLANTS

A method for the generation of syngas for use in hydroformylation plants comprises the steps of evaporating water to steam, mixing the steam with carbon dioxide in any desired molar ratio and feeding the resulting gas to a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) or an SOEC stack at around 700 C. while supplying an electrical current to the cell or cell stack to convert the feed gas to syngas. An advantage is that the syngas can be generated on the site where it is intended to be used.
