Air separation module with increased permeate area

An air separation module includes a plurality of fibers located within a casing. A fiber membrane defines an exterior of each of the plurality of fibers. The fiber membrane also forms an interior passage along a length of each of the plurality of fibers. The fiber membrane is configured to permeate a gas through the fiber membrane. At least one perforated canister is placed between the plurality of fibers. The at least one perforated canister is configured to collect a permeated gas from the plurality of fibers.

Argon production method and apparatus

A method and apparatus for producing a purified liquid argon product in which liquid argon having oxygen impurities is produced in a cryogenic air separation plant by separating argon from oxygen within an argon column. An impure liquid argon stream, composed of part of the liquid argon, is purified in an adsorbent bed by adsorbing the oxygen impurities in an adsorbent to produce a purified liquid argon stream that constitutes the purified liquid argon product. During adsorption, the adsorbent bed is maintained at a reduced temperature with a coolant to prevent vaporization of the liquid argon. The bed is then regenerated by draining residual liquid argon from the adsorbent bed, introducing the residual liquid argon back into the air separation plant and then desorbing the oxygen impurities with a regeneration gas. After regeneration, the adsorbent bed is refilled with purified liquid argon prior to being brought back on-line.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ARGON RECOVERY IN A CRYOGENIC AIR SEPARATION UNIT INTEGRATED WITH A PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION SYSTEM

Apparatus, system, and method for geothermally driven ammonia production. Hydrogen is generated using energy obtained from the underground magma reservoir and nitrogen is captured from air using the energy obtained from the underground magma reservoir. At least a portion of the generated hydrogen is combined with at least a portion of the generated nitrogen and heated at least to a reaction temperature using the energy obtained from the underground magma reservoir. The heated hydrogen contacts the heated nitrogen for a residence time to form the ammonia.

Gas purification method and device

Disclosed is a method for purifying a main gas, in particular helium, from a source gas stream comprising the main gas, a main impurity, in particular nitrogen, and optionally another, secondary impurity, in particular oxygen, the method comprising a step of partial condensation of the gas stream in order to extract therefrom impurities in liquid form, in particular the main impurity, and to produce a gas stream enriched with main gas, characterized in that the method comprises, before the partial condensation step, a step of injecting into the gas stream a compound in which the main impurity of the gas to be treated is soluble and having a saturation vapor pressure lower than the saturation vapor pressure of the main impurity.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING A COMPONENT MIXTURE

A method for separating hydrogen from methane in a component mixture containing light components, wherein a feed stream is formed at a first pressure level, wherein the feed stream is subjected to a pressure step, wherein a high-pressure product at the first pressure level and a low-pressure product at a second pressure level below the first pressure level are withdrawn from the pressure step, wherein a membrane stream is formed at a third pressure level using the low-pressure product or a part thereof, wherein the membrane feed-stream is subjected to a separation step, wherein a retentate and a permeate are withdrawn from the separation step, wherein the feed stream is formed using the permeate or a part thereof, and wherein the feed stream and/or the membrane stream is formed using the component mixture or a part thereof.
