Back support frame attachment system for a backpack

A back support frame attachment system for a container, such as a backpack. A back support frame has a slot at its bottom end. A back portion of a container has a sleeve at its top end and a strap at its bottom end. The top end of the back support frame is insertable into the sleeve at the top end of the back portion and the strap is positionable through the slot in the bottom end of the back support frame. A first portion of the strap has hook material and a second portion of the strap has loop material, or vice versa. A folded middle portion of the strap is insertable through the slot at the bottom end of the back support frame such that the hook material can be attached to the loop material. The strap is operable to disconnect the bottom end of the back support frame from the bottom end of the back portion when a free end of the strap is pulled.

A Posture Support

This invention relates to a posture support (1) comprising a wedge-shaped body (3,51,131) constructed from a resiliently deformable material and means to releasably secure the wedge-shaped body to a backpack (151). The invention further relates to a backpack (151) in combination with the detachable posture support (1). The posture support (1) according to the invention may be quickly attached or detached from a backpack (151). In this way, when the posture support (1) is mounted on the backpack (151), the posture support (1) can alleviate the pressure on the spine and intervertebral discs caused by carrying the heavy backpack (1). When the posture support (1) if taken off the backpack (151), the posture support (1) may be used as a sitting posture support to alleviate the pressure on the spine caused by sitting on a flat surface. The posture support (1) is relatively inexpensive and can be produced at a fraction of the cost of many other posture supports.

A hybrid carrier, such as a backpack, is disclosed having a hard shell interior carrier and a soft outer carrier. The hard shell interior carrier has a body with an openable top. The shape of the body of the hard shell interior carrier and the inside shape of the soft outer carrier are complementary so that the hard shell interior carrier form fits into the inside of the soft outer carrier. The soft outer carrier includes attachment devices that are joined to attachment device receivers on the hard shell interior carrier to removably attach the hard shell interior carrier to the soft outer carrier. The soft outer carrier may include handles, backpack straps and/or waist straps for easy carrying.

The invention relates to a backpack (10) having a stowage space (18), which on its side facing the back of a user of the backpack is delimited by a back part (20). The backpack (10) includes a net element (12) and a frame arrangement (22), which for tensioning the net element (12) is designed in such a way that an intermediate space (24) is formed between the back part (20) and the net element (12) when the net element (12) is tensioned. The backpack (10) has two shoulder straps (14, 16) for carrying the backpack (10) on the user's back. The shoulder straps (14, 16) have end areas (42, 44) that cross the intermediate space (24) and are fastened to the back part (20).

According to a first aspect, load-bearing systems can have one or more serpentine tensioners. According to another aspect, load-bearing systems can have one or more repositionable load-bearing members. Load-bearing systems having serpentine tensioners and load-bearing systems having repositionable load-bearing members are not mutually exclusive of each other. Accordingly, some disclosed load-bearing systems have a serpentine tensioner in combination with a repositionable load-bearing member. To facilitate disclosure of such principles, wearable packs incorporating one or more aspects of innovative load-bearing systems are described.

High mobility contoured pad

A high mobility, contoured shoulder and hip pad that can address various needs for body armor, equipment belt, and other types of equipment-users as identified above. The pad is shaped such that the pad can disperse the weight of a body armor system or other load carrying system on the faces of the user's shoulder and trapezius muscle or hip area. The width of the pad can involve reduced dimensions at the middle portion of the pad relative to the width dimensions at the ends of the pad, such as e.g., having an hourglass shape.
