A lithium composite transition metal oxide includes nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), and manganese (Mn), wherein the lithium composite transition metal oxide includes two or more kinds of first dopants selected from the group consisting of Zr, Al, V, Co, and Mg and two or more kinds of second dopants selected from the group consisting of Ti, Y, Sr, Nb, Ba, and Ca, and particles of the lithium composite transition metal oxide has a crystallite size of 170-300 nm.
Conversion of uranium hexafluoride and recovery of uranium from ionic liquids
Described are methods for the recovery of uranium from uranium hexafluoride dissolved directly into ionic liquids.
CARBON NANOTUBE AGGREGATE
A carbon nanotube aggregate includes a plurality of carbon nanotubes, a metal compound added to inside and/or outside of each of the carbon nanotubes, and an oxide film that is made of an oxide of the metal compound, and covers an outer periphery of the plurality of carbon nanotubes to define an outer surface of the carbon nanotube aggregate. Since the metal compound is shielded from the atmosphere by the oxide film, separation of the metal compound and reaction of the metal compound with oxygen or water in the atmosphere are suppressed, increasing heat resistance of the carbon nanotube aggregate.
Solvent-free synthesis of lanthanide oxide and mixed lanthanide oxide nanoparticles
Lanthanide oxides and mixed lanthanide oxides can be produced using furnace or microwave assisted solid-state synthesis. The use of Ln-tri(methylsilyl)amide-based precursors yields spherical nanoparticles. The formation of spherical shaped nanoparticles is likely due to the preferential single-step decomposition of the Ln-TMS as well as the low activation energy to overcome decomposition. Reaction temperature, initial metal ion ratio, and reaction dwell time can be used to control the final nanoparticle size. The method enables solvent-free, high-yield synthesis of morphology-controlled lanthanide oxides.
SOLID-STATE ELECTROLYTE, SOLID-STATE BATTERY INCLUDING THE ELECTROLYTE, AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A solid-state ion conductor includes a compound of Formula 1:
Li.sub.3a+b−(c*N)N.sub.aCl.sub.bX.sub.c Formula 1
wherein, in Formula 1, X is an anion having an average oxidation state of n and is −3>n≤−1, and is at least one of Br, I, F, O, S, or P; and 1≤a≤4, 1≤b≤3, 0≤c≤3, and 4.8≤(a+b+c)≤5.2.
Polyoxometalates comprising noble metals and corresponding metal clusters
The invention relates to polyoxometalates represented by the formula (A.sub.n).sup.m+{M′.sub.s[M″M.sub.12X.sub.8O.sub.yR.sub.zH.sub.q]}.sup.m− or solvates thereof, corresponding supported polyoxometalates, and processes for their preparation, as well as corresponding metal-clusters, optionally in the form of a dispersion in a liquid carrier medium or immobilized on a solid support, and processes for their preparation, as well as their use in reductive conversion of organic substrate.
Electrically conductive porous particle
There is provided a method of forming a porous particle comprising an electrically conductive continuous shell encapsulating a core, said core comprising an elemental compound that reversibly reduces in the presence of a cation and oxidizes in the absence of said cation, said method comprising the steps of: a) encapsulating an elemental compound precursor with said electrically conductive shell; b) reacting said elemental compound precursor with an oxidation agent to oxidise said elemental compound precursor to form said elemental compound, thereby forming said electrically conductive shell encapsulating said core comprising said elemental compound.
Method and system for sequestering carbon dioxide and producing hydrogen gas
A system and method for the simultaneous sequestration of CO2, production of hydrogen, and production of electricity at any iron and steel industries is described. In one illustrative example, the raw materials particularly used in a blast furnace can also be used for locking CO2 gas in the form of siderite. Siderite, thus formed, can be decomposed to generate pure CO2 gas. Eventually, the generated pure CO2 gas can be sequestered underground, sold or used for oil gas recovery or for other applications.
Scroll composite having amphiphilic substance inside and method for preparation of the same
Provided are a scroll preparing method using a two-dimensional material and a scroll prepared thereby. The scroll preparing method comprises preparing a two-dimensional material. The two-dimensional material is scrolled by providing an amphiphilic substance having a hydrophilic portion and a hydrophobic portion on the two-dimensional material. As a result, a scroll composite including the amphiphilic substance disposed inside a scroll structure is formed.
