HIERARCHICAL MAGNETIC NANOPARTICLE-ENZYME MESOPOROUS ASSEMBLIES EMBEDDED IN MACROPOROUS SCAFFOLDS
A hierarchical catalyst composition comprising a continuous or particulate macroporous scaffold in which is incorporated mesoporous aggregates of magnetic nanoparticles, wherein an enzyme is embedded in mesopores of the mesoporous aggregates of magnetic nanoparticles. Methods for synthesizing the hierarchical catalyst composition are also described. Also described are processes that use the recoverable hierarchical catalyst composition for depolymerizing lignin remediation of water contaminated with aromatic substances, polymerizing monomers by a free-radical mechanism, epoxidation of alkenes, halogenation of phenols, inhibiting growth and function of microorganisms in a solution, and carbon dioxide conversion to methanol. Further described are methods for increasing the space time yield and/or total turnover number of a liquid-phase chemical reaction that includes magnetic particles to facilitate the chemical reaction, the method comprising subjecting the chemical reaction to a plurality of magnetic fields of selected magnetic strength, relative position in the chemical reaction, and relative motion.
APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR TREATING, PURIFYING AND/OR EXTRACTING FROM WASTEWATER
An efficient, cost-effective, and efficacious technique for removing coal ash and other pollutants from waterways, ponds, marshes, holding tanks and other water sources and supplies. An apparatus comprising an open cage including electromagnets and/or permanent magnets and/or electrodes is supplied with electrical power to extract materials such as rare earth elements and/or heavy metals. The materials levitate to the surface, forming a slurry while leaving water substantially free of such materials.
ENGINES STRUCTURE FOR WATER MOLECULES IMPULSE, ORDER AND CONTROL FOR AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES
Plant growth and energy storage is supported by complicated bio-electro-chemical processes causing the intake of water and nutrients from the ground. These processes are affected by adaptations such as root structure and genetic characteristics that facilitate a plant species' survival in its native regions. Disclosed are methods for altering the water and nutrient intake through electrical alignment of molecules with dipole characteristics and ionized molecules, and apparatus for performing the disclosed methods. Through the disclosed invention, the capacity of water molecules to interact at an electro-chemical level with soil elements can be increased or reduced to guide absorption-transport activity, facilitating optimal plant growth for agricultural and other purposes.
System and method for using AC and DC sensors for water treatment
A system and method are disclosed for automatically operating a high voltage resonance circuit. An embodiment of the system includes one or more coils each coil can be an alternating current (AC) coil or a direct current (DC) coil. Ari embodiment of the system further includes a microprocessor that issues commands to control amplitude and frequency of pulses of the one or more coils to reach and maintain a resonant condition for water treatment. The microprocessor determines whether a coil is an AC coil or a DC coil by detecting whether a capacitor is connected in series with the coil. An embodiment of the system further includes one or more sensors that measure the quality of water and provide feedback to the microprocessor.
Apparatuses and methods for treating biofilm and legionella in cooling tower systems
Data related to biofilm and Legionella in cooling tower coolant is detected, collected and used to treat the biofilm and Legionella.
Devices for the treatment of liquids using plasma discharges and related methods
Plasma discharges and electromagnetic fields may be applied to a liquid, such as water, to treat unwanted material in the liquid.
ELECTROMAGNETIC FLUID FILTER USING MAGNETOSTRICTIVE SENSORS
In at least one illustrative embodiment, an electromagnetic filter may include a transfer pipe and multiple electromagnetic filter elements positioned in an interior volume of the pipe. Each electromagnetic filter element includes a support comb, a solenoid coupled to the support comb, and multiple magnetic members arranged in a planar array positioned within an opening of the support comb. Each magnetic member may rotate about an end that is coupled to the support comb. The magnetic members may be magnetostrictive sensors and may include a biorecognition element to bind with a target microorganism. A method for fluid filtration includes coupling the electromagnetic filter between a fluid source and a fluid destination, energizing the solenoids of each electromagnetic filter elements, and flowing a fluid media through the transfer pipe of the electromagnetic filter. The fluid media may be liquid food such as fruit juice. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Method and system for applying superimposed time-varying frequency electromagnetic wave for removal of SOX, CO2 and NOX from flue gases
The invention relates to a method and system for treating flue gases comprising generating a superimposed DC time-varying pulsed wave by superimposing a direct current on a low frequency time-varying pulsating electromagnetic wave signal, providing a treatment medium comprising water, using the superimposed DC pulsed wave to treat the treatment water medium, negatively charging the treated treatment water medium, and passing the negatively charged treated treatment water medium into a chamber containing flue gas such that the negatively charged treated treatment water affects the gas components of the flue gas and converts the gas components respectively to one or more of sulphates, nitrogen, oxygen, bicarbonates, carbonates and carbon, which can then be removed with used treatment water or exhaust gases. In particular, the invention relates to methods and systems for applying a superimposed time-varying frequency electromagnetic wave comprising both AC and DC components in a pulsating manner to enable the removal of pollutant gases from flue gases.
