CATIONIC CLAY COMPOSITION FOR TREATING WASTEWATER AND METHOD OF USING SAID COMPOSITION
A cationic mineral composition for treating wastewater is provided. The composition assists with flocculating out biomass suspended within the wastewater. The cationic clay composition may be mixed with the wastewater undergoing a wastewater treatment process at numerous injection sites. Mixing the cationic clay composition with wastewater at these injection sites may provide different benefits, wherein these benefits are dependent on the point at which the wastewater is along the wastewater treatment process. The cationic clay composition may be added at one injection site or multiple injection sites, depending on a determination made by the operator.
Water cleaning agent and water cleaning method
Provided is a water-purifying agent that is excellent in water purifying performance, can be suitably used in an automated wastewater purification apparatus, and is formed of a granulated product including a mixture of a powder of Corchorus olitorius and a polymeric flocculant, wherein a median diameter of the granulated product is 250 micrometers or greater but 850 micrometers or less.
WATER TREATMENT PROCESS
A process for simultaneously removing silica and reducing total hardness of a natural or waste water containing silica and scale-forming ions is described. The process comprises adding (i) magnesium hydroxide or a precursor of magnesium hydroxide and (ii) a soluble aluminate compound or a precursor of aluminate to said water while maintaining the pH of said stream at pH>8 to produce a layered double hydroxide in situ, wherein the layered double hydroxide contains the scale-forming ions in a lattice of the layered double hydroxide and silica is incorporated in the lattice of the layered double hydroxide as an interlayer anion and/or bound by the layered double hydroxide via one or more binding modes.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING CONTAMINATED WATER
A recombinant Moringa oleifera coagulant protein (MO) produced and secreted by Bacillus has coagulation/flocculation activity. The MO protein and the Bacillus host cells expressing the MO protein can be used in compositions and methods for treating contaminated water, such as drinking water or waste water. The MO protein can coagulate or flocculate suspended solid impurities in the water, which can then be removed.
COAGULATING AGENT OF PLANT ORIGIN FOR WATER TREATMENT
A process for obtaining a coagulant of natural origin based on tannins from the polymerization of Acacia mearnsii extract, monoethanolamine, and formaldehyde is characterized by its metal-free properties and an active material content of 28 to 32% by weight obtained from the polymerisation of an Acacia mearnsii extract, an amino compound and an aldehyde. The product obtained is a highly efficient coagulant for the purification of wastewater and drinking water.
System and method for treating contaminated water
A water treatment system including a filter compartment having a filter material adapted for removing at least one of neutrons and alpha particles from water. The filter material may comprise at least one of paraffin, cadmium, and bismuth. The filter compartment can also have a second filter material adapted for removing at least one of chloride ions and transmuted chlorine ions from the water. The second filter material may comprise at least one of coconut carbon, silicon dioxide, and ionized sand. The system can further include a container downstream of the filter compartment, the container having paraffin therein. Additionally, the system can include an absorptive manifold designed for absorbing hydrogen ions and reducing the pH of the water. A method for treating contaminated water using the water treatment system is also provided.
ENHANCED FOAM REMOVAL OF TOTAL SUSPENDED SOLIDS AND MULTIPLY CHARGED CATIONS FROM AQUEOUS OR AQUEOUS/OIL MIXED PHASE VIA INCREASED VISCOELASTICITY
The present invention provides improved methods for purifying and/or removing multiply charged cations and suspended solids from water. In particular the process relates to an additive composition that has the appropriate surfactant characteristics for effectively removing multiply charged cations and suspended solids from an aqueous or oil/aqueous mixed phase via foam fractionation. According to the invention, a hydrophobically modified polymer that acts as an associative thickener is used in the presence of a source of alkalinity or anionic reactant as well as surfactant in appropriate ratios to facilitate multiply charged cation and suspended solids removal for water purification in any of a number of commercial, environmental and industrial applications.
Filtration aid and filtration treatment method
Provided is a filtration aid used when filtering, for example, sludge generated in a purification treatment process for water such as industrial wastewater and including a pulverized product of Corchorus olitorius, wherein a median diameter of the pulverized product is 150 micrometers or greater.
Water-Purifying Agent and Water Purification Method
Provided is a water-purifying agent formed of a granulated product including a mixture of a plant powder and a polymeric flocculant, wherein a surface of the granulated product includes a coated portion in which the plant powder is coated with the polymeric flocculant and a non-coated portion in which the plant powder is not coated with the polymeric flocculant.
Surface-coated calcium carbonate-containing material and process for the purification of water
The present invention relates to at least one surface-reacted calcium carbonate-comprising mineral material and/or a surface-reacted precipitated calcium carbonate that is/are coated with at least one anionic polymer to obtain a surface-coated calcium carbonate-comprising material as well as to a process for the preparation of the surface-coated calcium carbonate-comprising material. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a process for the purification of water and/or dewatering of sludges and/or suspended sediments and to the use of a surface-coated calcium carbonate-comprising material for water purification and/or dewatering of sludges and/or suspended sediments.
