APPARATUS TO REMOVE HARMFUL CHEMICAL SPECIES FROM INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER USING IRON-BASED PRODUCTS
A method and apparatus are provided for removing EPA regulated chemical species from industrial wastewater using green rust. The apparatus includes a green rust generator having an iron anode and a carbon cathode.
Extract of plant powder, and water purifier
Provided are an extract, which is a fractionated component 1 of a water extract of a plant powder, wherein the fractionated component 1 is a fractionated component having a fractionation molecular weight of 12,000 or greater, wherein an ethanol-undissolved component of the fractionated component 1 exhibits a peak attributable to carboxylic acid in a Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) measurement and exhibits a peak attributable to cellulose in a gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) measurement, and wherein an ethanol-dissolved component of the fractionated component 1 exhibits a peak attributable to carboxylic acid in the FT-IR measurement and exhibits a peak attributable to a plant protein in the GC-MS measurement, and a water-purifying agent containing the extract.
AQUIFER STORAGE AND RECOVERY SYSTEM USING NATURAL COAGULANT
The present invention is an aquifer storage and recovery system using a natural coagulant, in which in purifying raw water through aquifer storage and recovery, assimilable organic carbon (AOC) included in the raw water is effectively removed using a natural coagulant produced in the aquifer storage and recovery process, thereby reducing the time required to purify raw water by aquifer storage and recovery.
Wet paint booth circulating water treatment agent
A method for treating a circulating water in a wet paint booth, the method including adding a treatment agent including an aqueous solution including a tannin and an alkali metal hydroxide and/or an alkali metal carbonate to the circulating water in any of passages for the circulating water in the wet paint booth, wherein the passages include for supplying the circulating water from a water tank to a paint booth, for collecting an uncoated paint in the circulating water, and for returning the circulating water to the water tank; to detackify the uncoated paint collected in the circulating water.
Enhanced foam removal of total suspended solids and multiply charged cations from aqueous or aqueous/oil mixed phase via increased viscoelasticity
The present invention provides improved methods for purifying and/or removing multiply charged cations and suspended solids from water. In particular the process relates to an additive composition that has the appropriate surfactant characteristics for effectively removing multiply charged cations and suspended solids from an aqueous or oil/aqueous mixed phase via foam fractionation. According to the invention, a hydrophobically modified polymer that acts as an associative thickener is used in the presence of a source of alkalinity or anionic reactant as well as surfactant in appropriate ratios to facilitate multiply charged cation and suspended solids removal for water purification in any of a number of commercial, environmental and industrial applications.
Water-purifying agent and water purification method
[Solution] Provided is a plant-derived water purifying agent used for water purification for industrial wastewater, etc. and including a granulated product of a plant powder, such that when a wastewater purifying treatment using the plant-derived water purifying agent is performed by an automated purifying treatment device, the water purifying agent can be suitably used in the automated purifying treatment device. It is more preferable that a Carr's fluidity index of the water purifying agent obtained by measuring 3 items of the water purifying agent, which are an angle of repose, a degree of compression, and a spatula angle be 40 or greater.
METHOD OF PROCESSING THIN STILLAGE
A method of processing thin stillage in an ethanol manufacturing operation that involves treating thin stillage upstream of an evaporator with a treatment system that includes a chitosan flocculant, thereby forming a mixture of water and flocculated solids, and separating the water from the flocculated solids with a solid-liquid separation device to form clarified thin stillage.
BIOPOLYMERIC WATER TREATMENT
A method of water treatment includes providing water that includes at least one contaminant. An effective amount of at least one filter media is added to the to the water that includes at least one contaminant. The water and the at least one filter media are agitated to form a homogeneous mixture. A cationic biopolymer is added to the homogeneous mixture of water and the at least one filter media. The water is separated from the at least one contaminant and the at least one filter media.
A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPTIMIZATION OF COAGULATION AND/OR FLOCCULATION IN A WATER TREATMENT PROCESS
Methods and systems are disclosed for optimization of coagulation and/or flocculation in a water treatment process. According to exemplary embodiments, samples are taken from an aqueous liquid and the samples are monitored with an imaging device to capture visual data of particles dispersed or suspended in the liquid. The particles are classified into particle types based on the visual data and a particle size distribution indication is computed for each classified particle type. The particle size distribution indication is then compared to a predetermined particle size distribution value, and in response to a difference detected, dosage of at least one coagulation and/or flocculation agent in the water treatment process can be adjusted.
Composition and method for removing impurities from a fluid
A product and method for removing contaminants from a stream of water in which the product according to the invention is mixed into a contaminated water stream and is reacting with contaminants into forming large easily separable anglomates. There are also disclosed uses of the method and the product for the separation of contamination from liquids.
