SYSTEM FOR REMOVING PER- AND POLYFLUORINATED ALKYL SUBSTANCES FROM CONTAMINATED AQUEOUS STREAMS, VIA CHEMICAL AIDED FILTRATION, AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A system comprising an agitation and flocculation system and a particulate filter capture system, and optionally a feedback system and/or a water softening. The agitation and flocculation system configured to receive a contaminated aqueous stream and an anhydrite quantity, and comprising means for agitating the aqueous stream and a means for mixing the aqueous stream with the anhydrite, such that a precipitate of calcium sulfate hydrate+contaminant complexes is formed. Also, a system comprising a fixed-bed type cross-flow system and a particulate filter capture system, and a corresponding method of removing per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances from the contaminated aqueous stream. The method comprising the acts of: providing an anhydrite quantity; contacting and agitating the anhydrite quantity with a contaminated aqueous stream; and collecting the precipitate of calcium sulfate hydrate+contaminant complexes formed from the aqueous stream.
Membrane wastewater treatment of combined sewer overflows and sanitary sewer overflows
A wastewater treatment system includes a biological treatment plant and an auxiliary, non-biological treatment plant. The auxiliary plant receives overflow, which can be sanitary sewer overflow, combined sewer overflow or strictly storm overflow. Treatment is by coagulation and membrane separation, removing most bacteria. Following treatment the outflow can be discharged to streams.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WATER TREATMENT
A method for water treatment, wherein the water for treatment is conducted by a conveying device from an inlet to an outlet via multiple treatment stages, wherein at least one of the treatment stages is an oxidation stage in which foreign matter situated in the water is oxidized by an oxidant which is added to the water in or upstream of the oxidation stage, and at least one of the treatment stages to which the water is fed after the processing by the at least one oxidation stage is a separation stage in which foreign matter situated in the water after processing in the at least one oxidation stage is precipitated and separated off by addition of at least one separating agent, in particular of a flocculant and/or of activated carbon.
ROLL ASSEMBLY, IN PARTICULAR FOR WATER TREATMENT, AND TREATMENT APPARATUS
A roll assembly for increasing a surface area of a fluid, in particular for water treatment, including at least one shaft which in each case bears at least one roll, a drive for the at least one shaft, a fluid feed which is arranged above the respective roll and guides the fluid to the respective roll, and a collecting trough for the fluid, the collecting trough being assigned to the respective roll, wherein the roll has two lateral surfaces in the shape of cylinder jackets which are spaced apart in the radial direction, are each in the form of a mesh and project on the bottom side of the roll into the collecting trough.
Washing machine comprising a water purification system
The invention relates to a program-controlled apparatus (1) for washing items that is equipped with a water purification system (8) for purifying the wash liquor by removing detergent and suspended soil, which purification system (8) utilizes addition of flocculant, wherein the amount of flocculant that is added is controlled to minimize the total amount of flocculant used without compromising the efficacy of the purification treatment.
SYSTEM FOR REMOVING PER- AND POLYFLUORINATED ALKYL SUBSTANCES FROM CONTAMINATED AQUEOUS STREAMS, VIA CHEMICAL AIDED FILTRATION, AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A system comprising an agitation and flocculation system and a particulate filter capture system, and optionally a feedback system and/or an ion exchange resin system. The agitation and flocculation system configured to receive a contaminated aqueous stream and an anhydrite quantity, and comprising means for agitating the aqueous stream and a means for mixing the aqueous stream with the anhydrite, such that a precipitate of calcium+contaminant complexes is formed. Also, a system comprising a fixed-bed type cross-flow system and a particulate filter capture system, and a corresponding method of removing per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances from the contaminated aqueous stream. The method comprising the acts of: providing an anhydrite quantity; contacting and agitating the anhydrite quantity with a contaminated aqueous stream; and collecting the precipitate of calcium+contaminant complexes formed from the aqueous stream.
METHOD OF PURIFYING NATURAL WATER AND WASTEWATER
The invention is classified as a physicochemical method of natural and waste water treatment and can be used in the energy engineering, chemical, petrochemical, food and other industries, especially in treatment of process, domestic, precipitation, mining, oilfield, quarry water and the water of tailing pounds.
The purpose of the invention is to improve the treatment of natural and waste water, to increase the capacity of a moving bed pressure filter and also to ensure high efficiency of the cleaning of the moving bed.
The technical result is the expansion of the range of application of the moving bed pressure filter ensuring high efficiency of treatment of both low-contaminated natural water and highly contaminated waste water.
This result is obtained due to the use of additional stages of chemical treatment during water treatment (oxidizing agent, demulsifier, powder sorbent), the use of various types of a pressure flocculation reactor, grains for a single and double moving bed, which have different grain composition and density, the performance of four-stage cleaning of the moving bed, the use of a dual-flow moving bed pressure filter, as well as due to the use of the additional pressure flocculation reactor followed by the removal of severe contamination with the use of a pressurized hydrocyclone.
Geotechnical characteristics of tailings via lime addition
