Process and apparatus for treating water with hydrated lime slurry and for dissolving scale
A method and apparatus is provided for treating water with already-slaked lime to arrive at a lime slurry that is in a solution or suspension, and delivering the thus treated water to a separating device which separates grit particles therefrom, to recover a high quality lime/water solution or suspension. An automated system controls the addition of lime and water to a lime mixing vessel. An acid wash system is provided which comprises an automated method and apparatus for removing scale buildup, for delivering an acid wash solution to the lime mixing vessel, the lime slurry holding tank and/or the delivery system, or any of them, thereby dissolving the scale buildup.
WATER INJECTION SYSTEM
A water injection system (1) of a vehicle includes a tank (2), at least one duct (3), at least one injector (4) fluidically connected to the duct (3) and configured to inject water into the combustion chamber of the vehicle. The water injection system (1) further includes a water treatment and filtration group (10), fluidically located upstream of the injector (4) so that the injector receives treated and filtered water. The water treatment and filtration group (10) includes a water treatment device (100) that performs a nucleation action on limescale particles and/or agglomeration of the ions of the salts dispersed and dissolved in water and a particle filter (150) to filter from the water the limescale particles formed by the water treatment device (100).
Systems and methods for desalination of liquids
According to some embodiments, a system for desalination of a liquid comprises at least one primary treatment process, at least one secondary treatment process, wherein the at least one secondary treatment process comprises at least one reactor, and at least one tertiary treatment process, wherein the at least one primary treatment process is configured to adjust a pH of the liquid to target pH level and to add at least one chemical additive to the liquid, wherein the at least one reactor is configured to heat the liquid to a temperature of at least 350 F. and to supply a pressure to the liquid to maintain the liquid in a liquid state, and wherein the dissolved salt of the liquid is configured to react with at least a portion of the at least one chemical additive to form an insoluble product within the at least one reactor.
Process for the treatment of high sulphate waters
The present invention relates to an improved process for treating high sulphate waters. In particular, the present invention relates to an improved process by which ettringite is used to treat high sulphate waste waters by controlled precipitation of sulphate and metal ions.
RDPreheating water jackets
Process and apparatus is disclosed for providing a chemical reaction between calcium oxide containing grit particles to produce calcium hydroxide and heat, capturing the heat of hydration and using it to preheat water initially at ambient temperature, to rise to an elevated temperature to increase the amount of lime present in the water to a supersaturated lime suspension level, with the chemical reaction running to completion, followed by cooling. Heat from a water jacket may be used to raise the temperature in the lime slaker. A process and apparatus is also provided for dissolving scale on internal surfaces of a lime slaker, a lime aging tank, grit separation device and piping and dosing sub-systems, by adding acid into the system with rinse water. A pressurized delivery system that is substantially closed to the atmosphere delivers treating doses of slaked lime slurry under sufficient pressure conditions to maintain a relatively constant back pressure, by means of valving.
