A stabilized, gas-infused liquids containing ultra high concentrations of infused gas, produced by: generating a gas-infused liquid in a sealed vessel under a high pressure of at least 20 psi; stabilizing the gas-infused liquid by passing the liquid while still under the high pressure through a tubular flow path arrangement which compresses the infused gas into nano bubbles in the liquid; infusing an additional amount of the gas into the stabilized liquid by injecting the same, while still under high pressure, back into the sealed pressure vessel along with more of the gas; and again stabilizing the liquid by again passing liquid, while still under the high pressure, through the tubular flow path arrangement to thereby form the additional amount of infused gas into nano bubbles in the liquid.

WATER-PROCESSING ELECTROCHEMICAL REACTOR

A water-processing electrochemical reactor that comprises a cylindrical inner anode (73), an outer tubular cathode (74), an intermediate chamber between the anode (73) and the cathode (74) and being crossed by the water, an outer shell (77) surrounding the cathode (74), a water inlet (71) and a water outlet (78), and a gas inlet (80) and gas outlet (79) connected to the outer shell (77) and to the gas chamber. The cathode surrounds the inner anode (73) and is porous to gas. A gas chamber is defined between the cathode (74) and the outer shell (77). The gas chamber contains a gas comprising oxygen and is at an overpressure that forces the gas through the porous cathode (74).

REMOVING WATER-SOLUBLE HEAVY METAL-SULFUR COMPLEX FROM PROCESS SOLUTION

Methods for removing a soluble heavy metal-sulfur complex from a process solution comprise contacting the process solution with an oxidant to oxidize the heavy metal-sulfur complex and form an oxidized complex precipitate, or with an acid to acidify the heavy metal-sulfur complex and form an acidified complex precipitate, and removing the precipitate from the process solution to provide a heavy metal-reduced solution. The method is advantageous for removing heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, barium, iron, vanadium and/or manganese from process solutions, for example originating from natural gas production, petroleum production, water treatment or mining.
