Method and system for treating wastewater
Treating distilled water with bacteria and other micro-organisms to remove nitrogen compounds from the distilled water. The distilled water may be produced from pretreating and distilling wastewater, such as wastewater from oil and natural gas production. The treatment steps of the distilled water include subjecting the water to microbial action under both anoxic and aerobic conditions and employing a membrane bioreactor to further purify the water. The purified water is still further purified by either reverse osmosis or ion exchange systems.
Wastewater treatment system and method
A system and method for treating wastewater in a reactor of the system at or below a predetermined flow rate and at or above a predetermined temperature is provided. Incoming wastewater in excess of the predetermined flow rate is directed to an equalization basin for storage. Wastewater stored in the equalization basin is directed to the reactor when (a) the temperature of such stored wastewater is equal to or greater than the predetermined temperature and (b) wastewater is received by the system at a rate less than the predetermined flow rate. The method also involves the step of repurposing a lagoon basin of an existing lagoon system to function as the equalization basin. The system may further include an integrated control system for directing wastewater stored in the equalization basin to the reactor when predetermined conditions are met.

METHOD FOR TREATING WASTEWATER
A method for treating wastewater by using a coagulant that aggregates a phosphorus-containing substance. The method includes executing a reaction phase having a biological treatment phase and a subsequent chemical treatment phase. The chemical treatment phase includes the first substep of mixing the wastewater while injecting a predetermined dose of the coagulant into the basin in order for the coagulant to contact and coagulate the phosphorus-containing substances. The injection of the dose of the binding compound into the basin is performed during a time period equal to or more than a time period required to accomplish two mixing turnovers of the wastewater and equal to or less than a time period required to accomplish seven mixing turnovers of the wastewater. The second substep includes mixing the wastewater in order to flocculate the coagulated substance.
METHOD FOR MANAGING A WASTEWATER TREATMENT PROCESS
A method for managing a wastewater treatment process. The method includes at least the steps of measuring an amount of at least one nitrogen-containing substance in the influent wastewater (CN, influent), and determining an amount of phosphorous to be removed from the influent wastewater (CP, influent) based on the measured amount of at least one nitrogen-containing substance in the influent wastewater (CN, influent).
Microbubble aerator
An aerating system for treating a waste lagoon or some type of wastewater that captures and recirculates air that has been previously pumped into the lagoon via a skirt. The system also utilizes an oxygen source to pump oxygen into the waste lagoon or wastewater that can also be recirculated. A manifold of the system is designed to have intakes for both the recirculated air and for the oxygen source.
Systems and methods for waste treatment
Systems and methods for aerobically processing waste, in which an aerobic bioreactor is in selective fluid communication with a source of oxygen-rich liquid medium. The aerobic bioreactor is configured for aerobically processing waste via bacteria fixed on media to provide processed effluent from the waste. The source of oxygen-rich liquid medium is different from the aerobic bioreactor.
ANAMMOX PROCESS AT WASTE WATER PLANT
A process for converting ammonium (NH.sub.4.sup.+) of a mainstream of a wastewater plant to dinitrogen gas (N.sub.2), including the consecutive steps of i.) removing biodegradable carbon compounds in the mainstream, ii.) converting ammonium (NH.sub.4.sup.+) in the mainstream to nitrite (NO.sub.2.sup.−) in an aerated biological process containing ammonium oxidizing bacteria (AOB) in a nitration vessel (133a-133d); and iii.) denitrifying the resulting stream from step ii.) to dinitrogen gas in an anammox vessel (200). Growth of nitrite oxidizing bacteria (NOB) in step ii.) is prevented by periodically subjecting the bacteria in said nitration vessel (133a-133d) to water suppressing growth of nitrite oxidizing bacteria (NOB).
Apparatus for treating wastewater
The present invention relates to apparatus, methods, and applications for treating wastewater, and more particularly to biological processes for removing pollutants from wastewater. This invention further relates to apparatus and methods for growing microbes on-site at a wastewater treatment facility, and for economically inoculating sufficient microbes to solve various treatment problems rapidly.
