Portable renewable energy microgeneration system
A portable renewable energy microgeneration system is disclosed. The system comprises one or more holding tanks that are configured to perform anaerobic digestion on waste in a multi-phase process using bacteria, an odor management system that is configured to remove odors from gas generated during anaerobic digestion, and a controller configured to automatically control the multi-phase process and to re-use the bacteria. The controller re-uses the bacteria by removing at least a portion of the liquid from the waste after anaerobic digestion is performed on the waste and using the at least a portion of the liquid to wet other waste and repeat the multi-phase process.
Method and apparatus for wastewater treatment using external selection
A method and an apparatus for biological wastewater treatment that includes a biological selector and a physical selector. The apparatus comprises an internal biological reactor where wastewater and recycled biomass are combined to provide a high substrate and high electron acceptor gradient for generating morphological biomass features that favor granule formation over floc and filament formation, and an external gravimetric or external screen selector operating on the biomass waste stream for collecting and retaining densified biomass aggregates including dense granule selection and for wasting lighter filaments and flocs. In the method and apparatus, particles may be added to provide cores to promote the formation of aggregates encapsulating the seeded particles. The particles may be added as various materials, for example, in the bioreactor, to initiate or seed the formation of a granule, that could then be separated by or integrated with either the external gravimetric or external screen selector. Further, organisms may be selected for biological phosphorus removal, denitrifying methane oxidizers, biological sulfur or sulfide oxidation, methanogenesis.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HIGH-EFFICIENCY NUTRIENT REMOVAL AND RECOVERY FROM WASTE STREAMS
Provided is a solid precipitation reactor useful for waste-water treatment. The reactor can include a reaction chamber configured to receive feedwater and to allow particulates to at least partially precipitate from the feedwater to form an effluent, and a membrane module having at least one membrane filter configured to receive effluent from the reaction chamber and to filter suspended particulates from the effluent to produce a permeate and a concentrate. The concentrate can be reintroduced to the re-action chamber to allow additional particulates to precipitate. Systems and methods for wastewater treatment, and methods for regenerating a zeolite cation exchanger, using the solid precipitation reactor are also provided.
Wastewater treatment systems and related methods

Method for treating a waste stream using a bioreactor and a membrane filter
Method for treating a fluid aqueous waste stream comprising a biodegradable organic substance, comprisingfeeding said stream into a bioreactor containing a fluid which contains biomass;reacting the biodegradable organic substance with the biomass in the bioreactor under essentially anaerobic conditions;taking a first flow from the bioreactor and using the first flow as a feed to a membrane filtration unit, in which said feed is subjected to filtration, thereby forming a permeate stream and a retentate stream;returning the retentate stream to the bioreactor;taking a second flow from the bioreactor as feed to a sludge treatment unit, in which sludge treatment unit the second flow is separated into a third flow, having an increased organic substance content compared to the second flow, and a fourth flow, having a decreased organic substance content compared to the second flow.
Waste processing system with anaerobic mechanism and method of operation thereof
A waste processing system includes: an input module for converting input organic waste into processed input waste; a digester module, coupled to the input module, for generating biogas and digester effluent from the processed input waste, including: a digester tank; baffles affixed within the digester tank; a digester process solution in the digester tank including, hydrolytic bacteria, acidogenic bacteria, acetogenic bacteria, methanogenic bacteria, or a combination thereof, for converting the processed input waste into the biogas and the digester effluent; and an output module, coupled to the digester module, for collecting the biogas and digester effluent after a residence period.
High efficiency water treatment process
A system and method for removing from an aqueous stream impurities such as grit, particulates, floating debris, suspended solids, turbidity, bacteria, fecal coliform, oil, grease, color, and the like, and for treating an unacceptable biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, and/or dissolved oxygen by utilizing a treatment system positioned partially in a channel adapted to a flow of the aqueous stream. The treatment system comprises a containment zone for containing the aqueous stream for treatment by at least one of traveling or stationary screen filtration, aeration, anaerobic and/or aerobic digestion, clarification, media filtration, chemical addition, disinfection, pH adjustment, particulate removal, and/or the like. A partition wall is provided to bypass untreated water such as storm water. After passing untreated waste water through the treatment zone, the treated aqueous stream may be recycled for further use or discharged to its desired destination, such as a lake, river, or ocean.
ANAEROBIC COLUMN REACTOR FOR BIODEGRADATION OF WASTES AND THE PROCESS THEREOF
The present invention relates to an anaerobic column reactor for biodegradation of wastes. Particularly the present invention relates to a process for conversion of biodegradable wastes to biogas and compost. More particularly, the present invention relates to an anaerobic reactor with unique arrangement of expanded and constricted portions alternatively placed vertically over each other which enhances the mixing pattern and thereby the mass transfer rates while controlling the biomass washout by regulating the upflow liquid velocity.

The invention discloses a photocatalytic reactor for the anaerobic photoreforming waste aqueous effluents and the production of hydrogen, comprising a flat panel with a shallow container (4) and a top transparent window (6); a bed (5) of photocatalyst material with a photoactive semiconductor and at least one co-catalyst; a flow region (8) through which a waste aqueous effluent flows and enters into contact with the photocatalyst material in the bed (5) under irradiation; and a sealing gasket (9) which isolates the panel from ambient air.
WASTEWATER SEPARATION AND PURIFICATION
Wastewater settlement and purification are described. These descriptions include purification of organically contaminated wastewater in aerobically maintained processes and anaerobically maintained processes. The wastewater may flow from aerobic processing zones to anaerobic processing zones to subsequent anaerobic or aerobic processing zones. Anaerobic processing may be promoted by accumulating the wastewater above a barrier and then flowing the wastewater below a curtain and then back up and over edges of the barrier for subsequent purification, discharge, environmental recharge and/or reuse.
