Wastewater disinfection system
10843937 · 2020-11-24 · ·

An apparatus for disinfecting flowing wastewater in a conduit with a liquid disinfectant from a reservoir of liquid disinfectant. A valve assembly is operatively connected to the liquid disinfectant source for selectively dispensing liquid disinfectant from the source. The valve has a movable valve element normally biased to the closed position. There is an actuator connected to the movable valve element which is responsive to at least one of flow or level of wastewater in the conduit to overcome the biasing force and allow the valve member to move the valve from the normally closed position to an open position.

Multiple tank high solids anaerobic digester

A multi-stage anaerobic digester is designed to treat a high solids, stackable feedstock. The system may also receive a pumpable feedstock such as a slurry or sludge. In a first stage, the digestate circulates in one direction around a raceway such that the digestate may pass a feed inlet multiple times before leaving the first tank. An optional side stream loop withdraws fibrous material from near the top of the raceway and return digestate with chopped fibers, preferably lower and further along the raceway. An outlet from the raceway located near, but upstream of, the feed inlet discharges partially digested substrate to a second stage, which is operated as a stirred tank reactor. The two stages may be provided in a single tank with an internal wall separating a ring shaped outer portion from a cylindrical inner portion. The digester may be operated in a thermophilic temperature range.

ANAEROBIC REACTOR SYSTEM

An anaerobic reactor system that includes at least one toxicity reduction system that is configured for reducing an amount of one or more nitrogen compound and/or at least one type of recalcitrant in a substrate mixture sufficient to procedure a non-toxic substrate mixture for purposes of anaerobic digestion of the non-toxic substrate.

Multi-stage wastewater treatment and hydroponic farming device

A Multi-Stage Wastewater Treatment and Hydroponic Farming Device comprises a compact basin, a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR), a modified wetland material, at least one microbial fuel cell (MFC) and a distributor. The MBBR and modified wetland material are disposed within the basin. Openings in the distributor retain hydroponic plants. In one example, wastewater enters through the MBBR which performs primary treatment of wastewater. Treated wastewater is further treated by modified wetland material and the MFC which generates electrical energy that supplies other components. Treated wastewater is pumped through the distributor and processed by hydroponic plants which extract growth inducing nutrients from the treated wastewater. Resultant water treated by the device is selectively recycled through various parts of the device or extracted from the device and used for other purposes. In one example, multiple devices are deployed in an area thereby providing self-sustaining, efficient water treatment and farming functionality.

AUGER CLEANED INACCESSIBLE FLOOR SYSTEM

Auger cleaned inaccessible floor systems to maximize operational capacity of inaccessible floors. The auger cleaned inaccessible floor system includes a floor having at least one channel beneath the lowest point of the floor extending horizontally at least half the length of the longest dimension of the floor and adapted for receiving an auger cleaner, at least one gate complex that provides fluid communication between the channel and at least one box and further provides access to the floor for the auger cleaner, and at least one box to deliver the auger cleaner to the channel and adapted for equalizing pressure when the inaccessible floor is under water to deliver an auger cleaner for cleaning. Thus, the auger cleaned inaccessible floor system allows cleaning of the inaccessible floor while the inaccessible floor system is in operation increasing the yield from the inaccessible floor system.

An induced sludge bed anaerobic reactor system that includes at least two stages of bioreactor processing, a first-stage feeding system, a second-stage feeding system, a pH balancing system, an effluent recirculation system, a gas management system, and a controller. In addition, any given stage of reactor processing may be comprised of a plurality of reactors that are configured to operate in parallel with each other.

WASTEWATER SYNERGISTIC TREATMENT ACCELERATION DEVICE

A sewage/wastewater biological treatment system-sewage (wastewater) synergistic treatment acceleration device, which includes four components of a reaction assembly, a signal transmission assembly, a control assembly, and a housing carrying assembly. The reaction assembly can realize the colonization/proliferation of functional microorganisms, participate in the interface electron transfer between the electrode-microbe-sewage as an electron donor/receptor and electrode interface of the (bio)electrochemical reaction, and optimize the flow characteristics in the sewage/wastewater treatment system. The signal transmission assembly enables the conduction of applied voltage and real-time signal acquisition and transmission of key parameters. The monitoring assembly implements intelligent controllability of the present invention. The housing carrying assembly enables integrated assembly of single device and multi-device serial/parallel operation assembly.

Septic tank having a lid with access port

A tank suited for use as a septic tank or for otherwise holding or treating water has a top hatchway large enough to enable an adult person to enter the tank. The hatchway is closed by a lid which has a port with a removable cover, where the port that is large enough to enable through-passage of a suction line for cleaning the tank, but small enough to prevent a child from entering the tank. Preferably the port area is less than 6 percent of the effective area of the lid and the centerline of the port lies at a location which is between 20 to 80 percent of the radius of the lid.
