The facility further includes a unit for cultivating macrophytes (22) supplied with water (20) leaving the unit for cultivating microalgae, and a vermiculture unit (24) fed by harvesting the macrophytes (22) and by the sludge (36) coming from the raw digestate from the methanization.

A method for detecting clogging of a subsurface flow constructed wetland, including the steps of firstly emptying water in the subsurface flow constructed wetland, and then measuring the apparent resistivity of the subsurface flow constructed wetland bed after the water is emptied, wherein the water holding capacity of clogging sediments in the clogged region after emptying is strong, the apparent resistivity of this region is further measured to be lower than an unclogged region and the clogged region can thus be positioned and analyzed, the apparent resistivity of the region clogged more seriously is lower and the degree of clogging can thus be quantitatively analyzed.
Organic waste treatment process and device
A thermophilic enzymatic biosynthesis (TEBS) device (50) produces outputs of newly synthesized substances, stabilized matter and fully recovered organic material, wherein the preferred device is a dry closet employing multistage treatment of organic solid, liquid and gaseous wastes. Said contemplated device comprises a multiphase thermophilic environment chamber (MTEC) (1) having a mixing zone (4), a cultivation zone (12), a pasteurization zone (24) and a germination zone (7) which utilizes a multiphase germination (62). The device comprises a thermodynamic pathway (29) and a functional respiration (64) which is directed toward an ammine reaction chamber (ARC) (3), which includes an oxidation surface (47) having reactivity with ammonia, producing a metal ammine complex. The device further comprises a subterranean uptake chamber (SUC) (2) which includes a plant growth medium (44) where gases received from the ARC (3) disperse to an uptake root structure (46), thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
STORMWATER BIOFILTRATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A stormwater treatment system and method for removing sediment, chemical pollutants, and debris from stormwater runoff by utilizing bioretention practices including physical, chemical and biological processes. Stormwater is directed into a primarily open-bottomed, multi-dimensional container whereby entrained sediment and other transportable materials are filtered and treated through a media filter layer consisting of inorganic and/or organic materials. A live plant (preferably a tree) situated within the container with roots resident in the media filter layer with the ability for expansion beyond the perimeter of the container through openings in one or more sidewalls. The treated water may be further conveyed beyond the perimeter of the container by additional openings and/or piping. A vertically positioned overflow/bypass/clean out piping apparatus may be included within the stormwater treatment system to provide additional water conveyance. Additional ancillary conveyance, filtration and storage facilities may be connected to the described stormwater treatment system as conditions warrant.
Use of proteins to control molluscs
The present disclosure includes proteins toxic to Zebra mussels, its method of production, and uses thereof. The protein was isolated from whole cell broth of Pseudomonas protegens CL145A via anion exchange chromatographic fractionation. The protein was found to be a secondary metabolite with highest expression at the fermentative production harvest stage.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING PACELIOMYCES SATURATES MYCELIA, BIOPLASTIC AND METHOD FOR TREATING WASTEWATER
A method for producing mycelia of Paecilomyces saturatus, a bioplastic, and a method for treating wastewater are disclosed. The method for producing mycelia of Paecilomyces saturatus includes steps of: providing a culturing medium containing at least one monosaccharide and at least one inorganic substance; placing spores of Paecilomyces saturatus into the culturing medium; cultivating the spores of Paecilomyces saturatus in an aerobic environment for a predetermined period of time to grow mycelia of Paecilomyces saturatus; and filtering to obtain the mycelia of Paecilomyces saturatus.
Wastewater treatment system with vertical tubes and method thereof
A wastewater treatment system, including: an equalization tank arranged to receive wastewater; a flow tube including an interior space bounded by at least one side wall of the flow tube; a plurality of media particles disposed within the interior space; and a pump arranged to pump the wastewater from the equalization tank to the flow tube. The plurality of media particles has a mean diameter of at least 4 millimeters. The wastewater is arranged to drain to the equalization tank through the plurality of media particles and the interior space. The flow tube is arranged to reduce a concentration of an organic contaminant in the wastewater.
A SYSTEM FOR TREATMENT OF WATER
Surface water, such as stormwater, is contained in a pond, or other containment having primary semi-isolated treatment areas constructed, or designated therein, which are suitable for establishing ecological communities for treatment of water within the containment. Water for treatment is induced to flow through the semi-isolated areas and the ecological communities therein for treating the water, such as by bio-filtering, breakdown and bioremediation of water-soluble or hydrocarbon-based contaminants and inhibition of the proliferation of waterborne pathogens. The treated water is then discharged from the semi-isolated areas, such as for use downstream. Discharge of the treated water from the primary semi-isolated treatment areas, as well as the use of pump systems, induces the flow of water through the semi-isolated areas and ecological communities therein to effect the treatment. Ecological communities may be established in relatively shallow secondary treatment areas in the containment and the recirculation of water therethrough may further act to treat the water in the containment.
AQUATIC BIOFILTRATION SYSTEM
An aquatic biofiltration system where invertebrate aquatic filtering organisms in the form of tunicates filter free-floating particulates in a water volume is disclosed. The system provides a habitat for tunicates with at least one residence device (5, 6) adapted to be arranged in a water volume, and a collection system (7) adapted to collect expelled solids from the tunicates. A biofiltration method for filtering particulates from a volume of water is also disclosed.
