INLINE PARTICLE SIZE CONTROL FOR ROTARY DRUM DRIER RECYCLE MATERIAL
Apparatus and associated methods relate to drying a wet coated seed material stream comprising an incoming wet granular biosolids stream mixed with a controlled size dried seed material recycling stream to produce a moist air and pellet stream, separating an uncontrolled size dried pellet stream from the moist air and pellet stream, diverting a recycle portion of the uncontrolled size dried pellet stream to be recycled, diverting the remainder of the uncontrolled size dried pellet stream to an outlet, resizing oversized pellets from the recycle portion of the uncontrolled size dried pellet stream to produce the controlled size dried seed material recycling stream, and mixing the controlled size dried seed material recycling stream with the incoming wet granular biosolids stream to produce the wet coated seed material stream. Oversized pellets may be selected using a screen. The oversized pellets may be resized using a crusher inline with the recycle stream.
Advanced Phosphorous Recovery Process and Plant
A method and plant for recovering phosphate from a biomass material, the biomass material suitably being a waste activated sludge from an upstream wastewater treatment process including a biological P removal process. The method includes an anaerobic digestion stage and steps for recovering independent streams rich in PO.sub.4 and Mg, or rich in PO.sub.4 and NH.sub.4, thereby increasing the amount of P recovered and avoiding struvite formation in the anaerobic digester and accessory equipment thereof, such as pipes.
Salt production from wastewater
Many processes generate wastewater streams rich in sulfate and chloride. These salt components are traditionally not recovered and are discharged to the environment. The invention recovers pure water for recycle/reuse and simultaneously generates valuable pure salts of NaCl and Na2SO.sub.4 for beneficial reuse, eliminating the waste stream. Process consists of the sequential crystallization of salt products with an intermediate purification step in which a chemical reactant is added to elevate levels of purity. The process is configured to simultaneously achieve zero liquid discharge.

HIGH RATE THICKENER AND EDUCTORS THEREFOR
A thickener for dewatering fluids having a vessel with a central well extending proximate a top portion of the vessel to a lower cone-shaped portion, a hindered settling zone, and a compressible sediment layer zone within the lower cone-shaped portion. Eductors housed in inlet wells have an inlet nozzle and a mixing tube to receive slurry to be treated and clear fluid to be mixed with the slurry. The fluid from the eductors is directed in counter circular paths via circular chambers situated proximate the inlet wells, such that fluid flowing in each direction collides and forms turbulence within the central well. Resultant fluid is directed into a lamella-type separator circumferentially located about a portion of the central well, having layered fluid paths directed radially outwards from said center longitudinal axis and upwards towards said vessel top portion through a conical, inclined fluid path, plate structure. The eductors are adjustable with a movable iris for limiting the amount of clear fluid exiting the eductor.

Waste material process and product
A method of producing a final product from a wastewater dissolved air flotation (DAF) sludge which includes the following dewatering step: 5—dewatering of the sludge, an aged sludge or a pre-processed sludge to produce a sludge filter cake and a filtrate; such that the pre-processed is sludge, or aged sludge, that has undergone additional processing steps prior to dewatering and aged sludge is sludge that has been stored for a period of time, wherein the dewatering step is a mechanical dewatering step 10 carried out at a maximum of 30° C. which results in a sludge filter cake that does not flow under its own mass.

System for monitoring operation of thickeners and clarifiers
A thickener/clarifier system includes a thickener/clarifier and one or more sensors measuring respective process or operating parameters of the thickener/clarifier(s) during operation thereof. The sensors are operatively coupled via hard-wired connections and possibly via 4-20 mA converters to one or more wireless transmitters. At least one wireless receiver receives the wireless signal(s) from the transmitter(s). At least one display is hard-wire coupled to the receiver(s) for displaying a magnitude of each process or operating parameter measured.
