Under-sink waste processing unit
An under-sink waste processing unit may generally include a housing defining an inlet and an outlet. The inlet may be configured to receive water and waste discharged from a waste disposal. The housing may also define a separation chamber in fluid communication with the inlet and a processing chamber separate from the separation chamber. The waste processing unit may also include a rotatable drive shaft extending within the separation chamber and a screw thread associated with the drive shaft. The screw thread may be configured to be rotated with the drive shaft within the separation chamber so as to at least partially separate the water from the waste received within the inlet. The separated waste may be configured to be dispersed from the separation chamber into the processing chamber for further processing thereof.

METHOD FOR TREATING WASTEWATER OF NEOPENTYL GLYCOL
A method for treating wastewater of a neopentyl glycol production process, the method including: recovering wastewater including a catalyst from one or more processes of an aldol purification process, a_neopentyl glycol purification process, and an extractant recovery process, and supplying the wastewater to a volatile organic compounds to a separation column; obtaining, from the separation column for volatile organic compound separation column; obtaining an upper discharge stream including the catalyst and a lower discharge stream including wastewater from which the catalyst has been removed in the volatile organic compound separation column; and supplying the lower discharge stream to a wastewater treatment system to treat the wastewater.
Floating wicks for slurry consolidation
Systems and methods for remediating an initially liquid-like slurry pond include distributing one or more floating wicks into the slurry pond, wherein the slurry pond includes a slurry with a supernatant level above the slurry. A method also includes placing a load on the slurry, wherein the load causes an effective stress on the slurry and aids in dewatering the slurry.
Treatment of Trade Effluent from Food Waste Disposal Systems
A bioprocess comprises regulating pH of trade effluent wastewater, adding and mixing a first bio-additive, adding and mixing a flocculant/coagulant, filtering through a filter device, adding, mixing of a second bio-additive with aeration, and adding and mixing of a third bio-additive with aeration. Treatment can be discontinued or continued by adding and mixing of hydrogen peroxide with aeration, and optionally exposing treated effluent to UV disinfectant. The treated effluent can be recycled or disposed. Compositions of bio-additives 1, 2 and 3 comprise a group of highly selective and effective microorganisms and enzymes that are immobilized on carrier support matrices from a group of alginate, chitosan, polyacrylamides, k-carrageenan and agarose.
