MAGNETIC WATER FILTER ASSEMBLY
20220363574 · 2022-11-17 · ·

A magnetic water filter assembly with a removable lighter weight lower section to permit access to the internal components of the filter assembly. The removable lower section allows the servicing and/or replacement of the internal filter as well as cleaning of the assembly. The lighter weight lower section reduces the stress placed on the surrounding plumbing components, including the piping/tubing that couples to the filter assembly.

Magnetic composite containing polyethylenimine functionalized actived carbon and methods thereof

A polymer/activated carbon composite made up of a branched polyethylenimine and magnetic cores involving Fe.sub.3O.sub.4 disposed activated carbon. The magnetic cores have activated carbonyl groups on the surface. A process for removing organic dyes, such as methyl red, as well as heavy metal ions from a polluted aqueous solution or an industrial wastewater utilizing the composite is introduced. A method of synthesizing the polymer/activated carbon composites is also specified.

Process for producing a calcium phosphate reactant, reactant obtained and use thereof in the purification of liquid effluents

A process for producing a calcium phosphate reactant, according to which: in a first step, use is made of a source of calcium and a source of phosphate ions in water, in a molar ratio that is adjusted so as to obtain a Ca/P molar ratio of between 0.5 and 1.6, and the source of calcium is reacted with the phosphate ions at a pH of between 2 and 8, in order to obtain a suspension (A) of calcium phosphate, and in a second step, added to the suspension (A) are an alkaline compound comprising hydroxide ions in order to set a pH of more than 8 and an additional source of calcium in order to obtain a suspension (B) of calcium phosphate reactant having a Ca/P molar ratio of more than 1.6. A calcium phosphate reactant obtainable by such a process.

P-N HETEROJUNCTION COMPOSITE MATERIAL SUPPORTED ON SURFACE OF NICKEL FOAM, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND APPLICATION THEREOF
20220355286 · 2022-11-10 ·

Disclosed are a P—N heterojunction composite material supported on the surface of nickel foam, a preparation method therefor and the application thereof. The composite material is a supported catalyst which can be used to remove pollutants in water by means of photoelectrocatalysis. The method comprises firstly modifying, by means of a hydrothermal method, a layered nickel-iron bimetallic hydroxide nanosheet on the surface of clean nickel foam, and then modifying cobalt oxide nanowires on the surface of the layered nickel-iron bimetallic hydroxide nanosheet by means of a mixed solvent-thermal method, so as to obtain a P—N heterojunction catalyst composite material supported on the surface of nickel foam (Ni foam@NiFe-LDH/Co.sub.3O.sub.4). The composite material has a good response to visible light, which can greatly enhance the absorption and utilization of light, and is further beneficial to enhance the performance of the catalyst.

METHOD FOR SEQUESTERING IONS IN AN ENVIRONMENTAL MATRIX

Methods and systems are provided for treating a contaminated environmental medium. In one example, the treatment includes adding a first jarosite-group mineral to the contaminated environmental medium to form a wet mixture under a set of conditions. The set of conditions is maintained over a duration of time to expedite precipitation of a second jarosite-group mineral, the second jarosite-group mineral incorporating contaminant cations and contaminant anions into a structure of the second jarosite-group mineral. The first jarosite-group mineral is added in situ at a contamination site.

PROCESSES AND SYSTEMS FOR TREATING SOUR WATER

Processes for producing olefins may include electrolyzing an aqueous solution comprising metal chloride, where electrolyzing the aqueous solution causes at least a portion of the metal chloride to undergo chemical reaction to produce a treatment composition comprising hypochlorite. The processes may further include contacting at least a portion of the treatment composition with the sour water at a pH from 8 to 12, where the sour water comprises sulfides and the contacting causes reaction of the sulfides in the sour water with the hypochlorite to produce a treated aqueous mixture comprising at least metal sulfates and metal chlorides, where the metal sulfates are present in the treated aqueous mixture as precipitated solids. The processes may further include separating the precipitated solids from the treated aqueous mixture to produce a treated effluent comprising at least the metal chloride.
