Systems, apparatus, and methods for liquid treatment are provided including one or more of disinfection, filtration, and/or purification of the liquid using at least one electromagnetic field (EMF) including two or more specific and/or varying frequencies and pulses, the ENIFs optionally applied to the fluid using one or more of alternating current electricity, counter rotating magnetic fields, and/or oscillating electrical fields of alternating polarity, in order to provide treated liquids for different uses, such as, but not limited to water treatment for drinking or other purposes. Such systems, apparatus, and/or methods for treatment of a liquid optionally include providing systems, apparatus, and methods that are configured for treating water with one or more electromagnetic fields (EMFs) of two or more specific frequencies and pulses, to provide EMF treated liquid.
ADVANCED OXIDATION PROCESS FOR EX-SITU GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION
Methods of treating contaminated groundwater having recalcitrant organic contaminants are disclosed. The methods include pretreating the contaminated groundwater to remove iron, introducing a persulfate to the contaminated groundwater, and exposing the contaminated groundwater to irradiation. The methods may also include extracting the contaminated groundwater from a feed stream. The methods may also include preparing the persulfate with high purity water. Systems for treating contaminated groundwater having recalcitrant organic contaminants are also disclosed. The systems include a pretreatment subsystem, a source of persulfate, and an irradiation source.
Biochar water treatment
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a system for treating water. The system comprises a biochar inlet, and optionally a metal salt inlet, ozone inlet, organic carbon compound inlet or any combination thereof. The biochar may be produced by biomass pyrolysis and the pyrolysis may be coupled to energy generation. The system also comprises a filtration device, such as a reactive filtration device. The system produces a treated water stream and a reject stream, which may be further separated into a recycled water stream and a solid product. The solid product may be suitable as a soil amendment for application to agricultural land, or for recycling. A method for using the system to treat water also is disclosed.
SOIL AND WATER REMEDIATION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATMENT OF RECALCITRANT HALOGENATED SUBSTANCES
Disclosed are methods, apparatuses and systems for the remediation of contaminated soils, groundwater, water, and/or waste using a combination of reagents. The disclosed methods may be used to treat various recalcitrant halogenated substances, such as perfluoroalkyls and polyfluoroalkyls. Particular combinations of reagents that may be used in the disclosed methods include but are not limited to: (1) persulfate, oxygen and ozone; (2) persulfate, salt, oxygen and ozone; (3) persulfate, phosphate, and/or oxygen; (4) persulfate, phosphate, oxygen and ozone; (5) persulfate, phosphate, salt and oxygen (6) persulfate, phosphate, salt, oxygen and ozone; (7) oxygen and salt; and (8) air and salt. The disclosed methods may enhance destruction of organic contaminants in the liquid phase and may also control the rate of aerosol or foam formation relative to the rate of chemical oxidation and/or reduction/transfer.
WATER FILTER ASSEMBLY
A water filter assembly includes a manifold mountable to a water conduit. An end of the water conduit is receivable between a manifold body and a mounting clamp of the manifold. A fastener is configured for drawing the manifold body and the mounting clamp together in order to clamp the water conduit to the manifold. A face seal is configured to be compressed between the manifold body and the mounting clamp when the fastener draws the manifold body and the mounting clamp together. An O-ring is positionable on the water conduit such that the O-ring extends between an inner surface of the manifold body and an inner surface of the mounting clamp.
METHOD FOR PREPARING LAMINAR ZINC HYDROXIDE ORGANIC-INORGANIC NANOCOMPOSITES FOR USE IN THE REMOVAL AND DEGRADATION OF DYES FROM TEXTILE EFFLUENTS
The present invention relates to a method for removing dyes from textile effluents and other organic substances using nanocomposites based on zinc hydroxides and carboxylic acids capable of adsorbing and degrading. More specifically, the present invention consists of a method to generate new zinc hydroxide-based materials, which allows removal and degradation of methylene blue and other organic compounds from wastewater from industrial effluents, particularly those from textile industry.
Methods and systems for pH treatment and extraction of leachable resources and pollutants from sludge
A pH treatment and method for extraction of leachable resources and pollutants from sludge. A volume of wastewater sludge is initially dewatered followed by adding pH adjusting agents to the dewatered sludge to remove acid/base-soluble contaminants. The acid/base-soluble contaminants are flushed out or dewatered from the treated product. Treated sludge can then be sent to storage and held for beneficial uses.

The disclosed methods may enhance destruction of organic contaminants in the liquid phase and may also control the rate of aerosol or foam formation relative to the rate of chemical oxidation and/or reduction/transfer.
MEMBRANE FOR OIL-WATER SEPARATION AND SIMULTANEOUS REMOVAL OF ORGANIC POLLUTANTS
An oil-water separation membrane is described. The oil-water separation membrane comprises a porous metal sheet with a photocatalyst layer on one side and a layer of nanoparticles and a surfactant on the other side. The layer of nanoparticles and surfactant create a superoleophobic and superhydrophilic coating that allows passage of an aqueous phase and rejection of an oil phase. The photocatalyst layer, combined with UV irradiation, enables degradation of organic contaminants in the aqueous phase. The oil-water separation membrane may be used as part of an oil-water separation system, and a filtered water product may be recycled through the membrane to increase the removal of organic contaminants.
