THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH SUBLIMATOR AND ADSORBENT BED
A system includes a filter device that has, in serial flow order, an adsorbent bed, a biocide filter, and a particle filter. The adsorbent bed includes adsorbent media that is configured to remove organic compounds from feed water that are capable of forming an adherent layer on a porous surface of a sublimator, and the biocide filter contains a halogen-release material.
METHODS OF CLEANING AUTOMATED RECIRCULATION SYSTEMS AND USING WASTE EFFLUENT GENERATED THEREFROM
Disclosed therein are the methods of cleaning an automated recirculation system or equipment and using the waste effluent produced therefrom for use without the need to reduce the conductivity of such waste effluent prior to use. The method comprises cleaning the automated recirculation system or equipment with a cleaning solution having a conductivity of up to 8 mS/cm at 25° C., and generating a waste effluent. The waste effluent may be used as irrigation water without reducing conductivity of the waste effluent prior to irrigation use. Suitable automated recirculation systems or equipment may be those used in the processing operation of a processed food, dairy, brewing, or beverage. The automated recirculation system may be a clean-in-place (CIP) system.
Ballast Water Management System
Techniques and systems for neutralizing discharge waters from ballast and/or cooling water biocidal treatment and disinfection systems are provided. The systems utilize, inter alia, oxidation reduction potential control to regulate the dechlorination of an electrocatalytically generated biocidal agent to allowable discharge levels in ship buoyancy systems and ship cooling water systems
CONDENSING VAPOR
An aerosol condensing system is provided. The aerosol condensing system includes a source electrode electrically connected to an electrical source that applies an electrical voltage to the source electrode, a condenser including a sink electrode to collect aerosol contained in an air stream to the sink electrode, and a duct configured to direct the aerosol to the condenser. The source electrode and the sink electrode creates an electrical field within the duct.
Conductivity control of aqueous chemical dosing in water treatment systems
A method and apparatus use conductivity to control the dosing of various chemical additives used in the water treatment industry by modulating the chemical additives within threshold setpoints. Conductivity directly correlates to concentration of chemical additives. This correlation is used to modulate the dosing rates of chemical additives into a process water stream to consistently regulate and balance chemical additive concentration within the process water stream. For example, the method and apparatus dose chlorine dioxide precursor solutions into a process water stream to generate a consistent concentration of aqueous chlorine dioxide.
Methods of inhibiting fouling in liquid systems
Provided are methods of inhibiting microbial fouling and improving efficiency in biocide dosing in an industrial process containing an aqueous liquid having a biocide demand. In exemplary embodiments, the methods comprise treating an aqueous liquid having a biocide demand with a biocide, monitoring the biocide demand of the aqueous liquid, and filtering a stream of the aqueous liquid. The filtering may be performed in a full-flow or side stream manner.
Gamma Irradiation of Ion Exchange Resins to remove or Trap Halogenated Impurities
A method of producing treated ion exchange resin material includes exposing an enclosed vessel containing ion exchange resin and a pre-treatment solution to high energy radiation. The treated ion exchange resin material has reduced organic impurities or total organic carbon (TOC).
Corrosion inhibitor for soft water circulation heating and cooling system and preparation method of corrosion inhibitor
A corrosion inhibitor for a soft water circulation heating and cooling system, wherein the corrosion inhibitor is pentapentanol core hyperbranched macromolecule functionalized by isothiourea and carboxyl, which has a chemical formula of C.sub.5H.sub.7O.sub.5{COC(CH.sub.3)[CH.sub.2OCOCH.sub.2CH(COOH)SC(NH)NH.sub.2].sub.2}.sub.5. The corrosion inhibitor provided by the present invention is non-phosphorus, biodegradable, non-toxic, low in cost and has good corrosion inhibition effect. Moreover, it has excellent corrosion inhibition performance for circulating heating and cooling systems using soft water as the water source, and can significantly improve the reuse rate of circulating water. The present invention also provides a preparation method of the corrosion inhibitor, which is simple, easy to obtain raw materials and easy to industrialize.
Methods for online control of a chemical treatment solution using scale saturation indices
A method for applying a chemical treatment solution to a process stream in an industrial processing system while the system is online. The method includes measuring a mineral hardness and alkalinity of the process stream, determining a dosage of the chemical treatment solution based on a relationship between the dosage and a scale saturation parameter that is calculated based on the mineral hardness and the alkalinity of the process stream, and controlling application of the chemical treatment solution to the process stream based on the determined dosage.
