Electroflotation apparatus having an outlet pipe with a low turbulence orifice
An electroflotation apparatus for removing impurities from waste water includes an electrolytic cell for treating the waste water and generating a flock containing the impurities and an outlet pipe having a linear central axis located co-axially with the electrolytic cell for passing the water and flock from the electrolytic cell to a separation area. The outlet pipe comprises a first end connected to the electrolytic cell and having a first diameter, and a second end through which the treated water and flock exit the outlet pipe, the second end having a second diameter. The outlet pipe reduces the turbulence of the treated water from the electrolytic cell before the treated water is passed to the separation area such that aggregation of the flock in the separation area is increased.
Disinfection apparatus having submersible UV light devices
Disinfection apparatus having submersible disinfection devices for disinfecting fluid. The disinfection apparatus includes: a pipe having one or more linear segments; one or more disinfection devices installed on the pipe, each of the one or more disinfection devices generating light for disinfecting fluid in a linear segment of the pipe; and a controller electrically coupled to the one or more disinfection devices and controlling the one or more disinfection devices. Another embodiment of the disinfecting apparatus includes; side and bottom walls and a lid that define an enclosed chamber; an inlet and outlet for communicating fluid to the enclosed chamber; a plurality of disinfection devices disposed on the side wall, each of the plurality of disinfection devices generating light for disinfecting fluid inside the enclosed chamber; and a controller electrically coupled to the plurality of disinfection devices and controlling the plurality of disinfection devices.
Dehydrator system and methods of using the same
Provided herein are solids removal systems for dehydrator systems comprising a large rotating paddle, a small rotating paddle, and a drive shaft. The dehydrator system also includes a core dehydrator and a mixing unit. The core dehydrator comprises a plurality of small deflector plaques in fluidic communication with a plurality of large deflector plaques. The mixing unit includes a rapid mixing manifold in fluidic communication with a plurality of vertical flocculators and the core dehydrator. The large rotating paddle and the small rotating paddle of the solids removal system are connected to the drive shaft and configured to remove solids from the core dehydrator.
Flowing fluid disinfection method and disinfector
A method for disinfecting a fluid includes emitting UV light into a flowing fluid pillar along its axial direction. The flowing fluid pillar is surrounded by and in contact with a fluid medium having a refractive index lower than that of the fluid to be disinfected so that total internal reflection occurs when the UV light travels within the flowing fluid pillar. Also provided is a UV disinfector for disinfecting a flowing fluid.
Skimmer and oil water separator process
A skimmer for removing a layer of oil floating on a surface oil contaminated water which subsequently concentrated and separated in an oil water separator which removes tramp oils or other fluids, such as hydraulic oils, with specific gravity less than that of the operating fluid are required to be removed from operating fluid such as water, lubri-coolants or other liquids. The skimmer supplies concentrated oil water composite fluid to a separator apparatus designed for use in industrial applications in which unwanted tramp oils or other fluids, such as hydraulic oils, with specific gravity less than that of the operating fluid are required to be removed from operating fluid such as water, lubri-coolants or other liquids.
Continuous Dewatering Recirculation System with Integral Coal Combustion Residual High Flow Plate Separator
The system for a continuous dewatering recirculating for removing particulate such as coal combustion residue from a water stream. The system includes multiple dewatering and recirculation containers, each having a submerged flight conveyor and lamella settlings plate located therein, at least one dewatering and recirculation container receives ash water stream overflow.
FEED SPACER HAVING THREE-LAYERED STRUCTURE, AND REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE FILTER MODULE INCLUDING SAME
Provided is a feed spacer having a three-layer structure, in which a set forming the feed spacer is formed in a three-layer structure, so that the set, which is in contact with a reverse osmosis membrane, convects raw water to a center of the structure of the feed spacer and a laminar flow velocity gradient is generated at the center to decrease a polarization phenomenon of a reverse osmosis filter module and minimize pressure loss, and a reverse osmosis membrane filter module including the feed spacer.
Dynamic, influent-constituent-based, separator control apparatus and method
A system operating as a centrifugal, liquid-liquid separator may be controlled, and even optimized, by automatic control of back pressure to establish an optimum position of the dispersion band therein. Optimizing to minimize impurities (from each other) in each of two separated phases is possible, even simultaneously, by reliance on a processor setting the settling lengths of both heavy and light phases at the same value. Settling length, defined in accordance with the invention, reflects a settling velocity multiplied by a residence time. Equating these lengths, for droplets of each in the other liquid, provides superior results over conventional settling theory maximizing settling area. Equalization of residence times did not provide an improvement over conventional settling theory.
REVERSE DIFFUSION DESALINATION
The systems and methods described herein relate to use of a reverse diffusion system for removal of dissolved ions from a fluid, for example, salt ions. Specific embodiments include a system for desalinating salt water to produce potable water. The systems and methods can include pulsing low levels of electricity via electrodes in a scrolling pattern, so as to sweep the ions across a unit.
FLUID STERILIZATION APPARATUS
A fluid sterilization apparatus includes: a flow passage tube in which a processing passage where a passing fluid is sterilized is formed; a first light source that irradiates the processing passage with ultraviolet light; an inflow passage formed in a direction that intersects an outer circumferential surface of the flow passage tube; and a communication passage that causes the inflow passage to communicate with the processing passage. The communication passage has a narrow passage in the middle of a path from the inflow passage toward an opening of a first end, the narrow passage being narrower than a passage toward the inflow passage.
