The tether apparatus includes a harness having an elastomeric body configured to engage the plurality of corners of the handheld device thereby releasably securing the elastomeric body to the handheld device, a fastener configured for releasably engaging an article worn or borne by a user, and an elongated tether interconnecting the fastener and the harness. A first end of the tether connected to the elastomeric body, and a second end of the tether connected to the fastener. The elastomeric body and the elongated tether may be monolithically formed. The tether apparatus allows a user to easily retrieve the handheld device if dropped.

Multi-configuration mounting system
10955730 · 2021-03-23 · ·

A multi-configuration mounting system has been disclosed. The multi-configuration mounting system comprises an adapter configured to couple to a first device, and a receptacle defining an opening within a surface of the adapter. The receptacle receives a tab of a clip housing that secures a second device, thereby forming an interference fit between the tab and the receptacle to couple the second device to the first device via the adapter.

Quick coupling for a body camera
10928709 · 2021-02-23 · ·

A coupling releasably secures an item such as a body camera to a mount point. The coupling includes a connector and a receiver. The connector includes a crossbar and a post. The receiver includes an opening and a slot. The crossbar moves through the entry opening and the connector is rotated relative to the receiver. The post of the connector is moved through the slot to engage the receiver and hold the connector in a mounted position on the receiver, thereby securing the item to the mount point. Embodiments of the present disclosure also involve methods for securing the item to the mount point using a connector and receiver, as well as systems for mounting an item using a connector, receiver, and mount point.

STRAP LINKING PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND BATTERY PACK
20210074964 · 2021-03-11 · ·

A portable electronic device includes: a casing including an external surface enclosing an interior volume, a battery compartment occupying a portion of the interior volume and that opens through the external surface to form a battery opening, and a casing strap attachment point carried on the external surface; a battery pack insertable into the battery compartment through the battery opening, and to be retained within the battery compartment, wherein the battery pack comprises a battery strap attachment point; and a strap including a first end attachable to the casing strap attachment point, a second end opposite the first end, and a strap hook carried on the second end and for attachment to the battery strap attachment point to enable the battery pack to remain attached to the portable electronic device via the strap when the battery pack is not retained within the battery compartment.

SELECTIVELY RECONFIGURABLE CARRYING CASE WITH PERIMETRICAL ZIPPER
20210052052 · 2021-02-25 ·

Collapsible or otherwise selectively reconfigurable carrying cases, and methods for the manufacture and use thereof, are provided. The carrying cases are constructed of at least two body panels made of puncture-resistant material and are selectively reconfigurable between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration by the use of a zipper disposed around all or substantially all of a perimeter or circumference of the at least two body panels. The carrying cases are adapted to receive and securely store and carry fragile items, e.g. cameras and photographic equipment, when in the expanded configuration and to collapse or otherwise significantly reduce in volume when in the collapsed configuration for easy storage and transportation.

Expandable and transportable bag
10905209 · 2021-02-02 ·

An expendable and transportable bag is disclosed. In one embodiment, a stretchable reusable bag hidden inside a lanyard keychain is now readily available to carry goods in a moment's notice of under 5 seconds. An attachment device enables the Sneakey-Bag to consistently be with the consumer, for example, with the consumer's keys or ID card and can be put away entirely in the lanyard in 3 to 5 seconds.

Article of clothing with video recording device support

A video recording device, holster and article of clothing are disclosed to reliably and covertly provide for the capture of video, audio, and metadata, and perform other commands. The holster may be provided with a carrier that is, in turn, inserted into the holster. In one embodiment, the holster may be confirmed as being associated with the video recording device to authenticate a user, and establishes a docked position. Moreover, the video recording device may enter a mode of operation associated with using the video recording apparatus automatically when inserted into a holster.

Uniform clamp

A clamp assembly removably couples to a sheet of material. An item, such as a body camera, mounted on the clamp assembly may be coupled to the sheet of material via the clamp assembly. A sheet of material is provided adjacent a base of the clamp assembly. An insert is provided adjacent the sheet of material on a side opposite the base. A clamp element is connected to the base and moves between an open position and closed position. Movement of the clamp element to the closed position resists removal of the base from the sheet of material. Embodiments of the present disclosure also involve clamp assembly bases, as well as systems for securing an item, such as a body camera, to the sheet of material.

Devices and accessories employing a living hinge
10897828 · 2021-01-19 · ·

A device incorporating both a magnet and a living hinge may be employed to construct cases to protect electronic devices and to function as a closure for cases and lidded containers. Such cases often can be bent three 360 allowing the cases to be either closed protecting devices therein are closed upon themselves allowing the case to function to secure an electronic device to a substrate such as an article of clothing. The devices of the disclosure can also be used to organize and hold loose items together.

MAGNETIC BODY-WORN MOUNTING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A mounting device includes an internal member and an external member. The internal member includes first magnets disposed in an inner face of the internal member, a shock cavity formed in the inner face of the internal member, and an insert disposed in the shock cavity. The external member is removably coupled to the internal member. The external member includes second magnets disposed in an inner face of the external member. The second magnets are rotatable between a locking position and a release position. The external member also includes a shock ridge formed in the inner face of the external member. The shock ridge is received into the shock cavity and compresses the insert such that impact is dampened during coupling of the internal member to the external member.
