SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INCREASED OPERATING ROOM EFFICIENCY
Systems, devices and methods to improve safety and efficiency in an operating room comprise providing a suture package that holds new suture needles and needle receptacles for storing used needles. The devices can be safely worn for the surgeon to self-dispense new suture needles in the near surgical field and to secure the used needles into a needle trap or a needle retainer located on his extremity, on his operative instruments or on the surgical drapes. The device may provide automated and/or simplified needle counting both during use and after removal from the surgical field. The device may be configured for ergonomic and efficient use so as to minimize the actions and motions of the surgeon to dispense and secure the needle.
A Work Glove and a Multi-Layered Ferromagnetic Pouch for Use with a Work Glove
A work glove (1,100,1000) for magnetically attracting and retaining one or more work items, the work glove (1,100,1000) comprising: a glove body configured to receive a wearer's hand in use, the glove body having a back surface (2,200,2000) arranged to overlie the back of the wearer's hand; and a multi-layered pouch (4,400,4000) attached to the back surface (2,200,2000) of the glove body, wherein the multi-layered pouch (4,400,4000) comprises: a magnetic layer (6,600,6000) composed of a magnetic material; a covering layer (5,500,5000) arranged to contact the one or more work items; and a plurality of magnets (8,800,8000) or ferromagnetic bodies located between the magnetic layer (6,600,6000) and the covering layer (5,500,5000), each of the magnets (8,800,8000) or ferromagnetic bodies being magnetically attached to the magnetic layer (6,600,6000) or ferromagnetic bodies layer, wherein the magnets (8,800,8000) are arranged in spaced relationship.
Devices and accessories employing a living hinge
A device incorporating both a magnet and a living hinge may be employed to construct cases to protect electronic devices and to function as a closure for cases and lidded containers. Such cases often can be bent three 360° allowing the cases to be either closed protecting devices therein are closed upon themselves allowing the case to function to secure an electronic device to a substrate such as an article of clothing. The devices of the disclosure can also be used to organize and hold loose items together.
Tool Attachment System
A tool attachment system is provided. The tool attachment system includes a tool attachment device and a receiver that cooperate to lock or secure, for example, a bag or pouch. When the tool attachment device is coupled to the receiver, a locking mechanism locks the tool attachment device to the receiver in a locked position. To remove the tool attachment device, a user applies a force to a button to cause the tool attachment device to disengage from the receiver.
Lanyard
A lanyard with attachment members such as a tool holding member, tether key, or carabiner, is provided. The lanyard includes one or more elastic cords within a sheath. The sheath has a much lower elasticity than the elastic cord. The higher spring constant or modulus of elasticity of the sheath limits the total extended length of the lanyard in operation. The elastic cords stretch to absorb the energy of falling equipment up to the length of the outer sheath. The attachment members may be attached to the sheath or may include components of the sheath and or the elastic cord. The lanyard allows for an elastic response to absorb the energy of a falling tool and a restraint to the total extended length of the lanyard.
TOOL TRANSFER SYSTEM
A system for transferring an object from one user to another user that is useful to prevent unintentional dropping of the object is disclosed. A cam is rotatably connected to a structure that is configured to be attached to a first user. A central housing with two ports is configured to allow for the attachment of a tool by lanyard or other means. When the first cam is locked into the one of the housing ports, it cannot be released from the housing unless a second cam is inserted into the second housing port and captured. Once the second cam is captured the first cam is released, thus safely passing the tool from the first user to the second user while minimizing the chance of dropping the tool.
Embedded blade cutters and blades for same
A hand-held cutting tool includes a handle and a cutting head with an embedded tool having multiple operative surface portions, the embedded tool consisting of a single unitary metal piece, the multiple operative surface portions thereof including a cutting edge and a tape splitter portion, the embedded tool being molded or otherwise secured within the cutting head such that the tape splitter portion distally extends from the cutting head and a portion of the cutting edge is exposed. The embedded tool includes a top flat surface section which is part of and defined by an uppermost structural reinforcing portion of the single unitary metal piece; and the tape splitter portion is recessed in relation to the uppermost structural reinforcing portion relative to the cutting edge of the blade.
Customizable tool belt and methods of making and using the same
The invention is directed to a tool belt that can be used for holding and securing one or more tools or accessories commonly used with in the construction space (e.g., concrete or masonry). The tool belt comprises an elongated strap that is designed to be attached around the waist of a user. The strap includes a closure that allows the belt to be worn and removed as desired. The strap further includes one or more inserts that are added and removed from the belt as needed to customize the belt design. Each insert includes a protrusion that cooperates with a corresponding receiver configured on the belt strap. In this way, inserts can be added and removed from the belt for a particular job as needed by the user.
Air hose clamping mechanism and hook device and method
An air hose clamping mechanism and hook device including an air hose clamping mechanism and hook assembly including: an air hose clamping mechanism; and a hook. The air hose clamping mechanism and hook device is an air hose clamping mechanism and hook for the air hose clamping mechanism and hook assembly; wherein the air hose clamping mechanism and hook assembly is in function combination an air hose clamping mechanism, and the hook whereby a tool coupled to an air hose is able to be suspended via the hook and the air hose clamping mechanism allowing one-way movement of the air hose.
KEY RING ACCESSORY DEVICES
Key ring accessory devices enable a user to conveniently and repeatedly attach an accessory item to a key ring's split ring and detach it therefrom and, during its detachment, securely clamp the accessory item to a clothing item for safely carrying the accessory item. The key ring accessory devices include a spring clip with the interchangeability functionality of freely and directly suspending an accessory item from a key ring's split ring and clamping the accessory item on a clothing item. The key ring accessory devices are designed such that they are unable to merely slide off a split ring but rather requires a specific user manipulation.
