A machine is for the manufacture of a hollow glass article that includes at least one thin side wall. The machine includes at least one molten glass parison distributor, a blank mold including a cavity designed to successively receive at least one parison of molten glass, and components that form a blank of the article in the blank mold, transfer the blank into a cavity of the finishing mold, and form the article in the finishing mold. The cavity of the finishing mold includes at least one side part provided with a concave cavity to form, on the side wall of the article, a convex bulge directed towards the exterior of the article. The machine further includes a component that removes the bulge to give the side wall of the article a substantially constant thickness.

Method and equipment for manufacturing a hollow glass article having a specific inner glass distribution
The method for manufacturing a hollow glass article comprises the following steps: introducing a blank (38) of the article into a finishing mold (26), and forming the article in the finishing mold (26), by injecting at least one gas and a forming pressure inside the blank (38) of the article. During formation of the article in the finishing mold (26), at least one gas injection point (54A) is displaced for directing the gas towards at least one predefined area of the blank (38), the gas being injected at least at a finishing pressure in order to form a specific inner glass distribution of the article.
Lock ring mounting arrangement for blow heads
A blow head mounting arrangement for use to facilitate installation and removal of a blow head from a blow head mounting member. The blow head has a first engagement member for removable engagement with a second engagement member to removably attach the blow head to the blow head mounting member. Once engaged, the blow head is retained on the blow head mounting member by rotating the blow head into a locked position in which it is retained until it is rotated in the opposite direction by a locking mechanism.

The invention relates to a method of fabricating a glass container, the method comprising a forming step of forming molten glass in order to obtain a semi-finished container (4) comprising a shell (5) presenting inside and outside faces (7, 8), a cooling step during which said semi-finished container is in a transient state in which the glass forming said outside face is sufficiently viscous for it not to deform under the effect of gravity, while the glass forming said inside face is sufficiently fluid to allow said inside face to deform under the effect of gravity, said method including a shaping operation while the semi-finished container is in said transient state, in which operation the semi-finished container is maintained for a predetermined time in a position that is inclined relative to its upright vertical position in order to modify the shape of said inside face under the effect of gravity.

For the monitoring of the application of a vacuum to the finished moulds (1, 2) of a glass moulding machine, in particular of an I.S. machine, an arrangement is proposed which is composed of a vacuum sensor (13, 14), which vacuum sensor is arranged in a vacuum line (5, 6) which charges the finished mould (1, 2) and which vacuum sensor is designed for pressure measurement and detects a pressure value, which pressure value is transmitted by way of a microcontroller (15, 16) of an I.S. machine controller (22) by way of which, in a manner dependent on the measured value, a hollow glass article can be identified as being defective and rejected. The arrangement permits automated monitoring of the vacuum operation and a lessening of the burden on operating personnel, and serves for the automated assurance of product quality.

Forming Glass Containers Responsive to Suspended Parison Elongation
A method of and system for forming a glass container, and an apparatus for sensing elongation of a parison in a blow mold of a glassware thrilling machine. A suspended parison is allowed to elongate in a mold along a central longitudinal axis. At least one position of a closed end of the parison is sensed within the mold before the closed end of the parison contacts a transversely extending surface in the mold. A process parameter is adjusted responsive to the sensing step.
Glass Container Coating Process
A process for forming coating on an interior surface of a glass container. A glass preform is formed at blank molding station from a gob of molten glass. Thereafter, a glass container is formed at a blow molding station from the glass preform. A coating material comprising a suspension of nanoparticles in a liquid medium is introduced into an interior of the glass preform or the glass container while the glass is still hot from being formed. Heat from the glass is transferred to the liquid medium to vaporize the liquid medium and form a coating on an interior surface of the glass preform or the glass container. Thereafter, the glass container is annealed.
