Making a glass melt from the silicon dioxide granulate in a melting crucible, and iii.) Making a quartz glass body from at least a part of the glass melt, wherein the melting crucible is comprised in an oven and is made of at least one material comprising tungsten or molybdenum or a combination thereof. The invention further relates to a quartz glass body which can be obtained by this process. Further, the invention relates to a light guide, an illuminant and a formed body, each of which can be obtained by processing the quartz glass body further.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING OPTICAL FIBER PREFORM, AND OPTICAL FIBER PREFORM
A production method and others according to the present embodiment are provided with a structure for effectively preventing occurrence of accidental spiking during drawing of a preform. In order to control the residual He-concentration in the center part of the preform, a transparent glass rod that has a predetermined outer diameter and is already sintered but is not doped with an alkali metal yet is annealed in in the atmosphere not containing He gas for an annealing time determined by referring to result data in which the relationship between the annealing time and the residual He-concentration is previously recorded for each outer diameter. In the result data, actually measured data of the residual He-concentration in a produced optical fiber preform and the annealing time are accumulated as annealing treatment results.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CRYSTALLIZED GLASS MEMBER HAVING CURVED SHAPE
To obtain a crystallized glass member having a curved shape and provide a method for producing the same. A method for producing a crystallized glass member having a curved shape, including a deformation step for adjusting the temperature of a plate glass to a first temperature zone from higher than [At+40]° C. to [At+146]° C. or lower, where At is the yield point (° C.) of the plate glass and deforming at least part of the plate glass into a curved shape by external force acting on the plate glass while precipitating crystals from the plate glass.
