Process for Preparation of Broadcast Granules
20200352159 · 2020-11-12 ·

A process for preparing a broadcast granular pesticide composition comprising:

combining a pesticide active composition, powdered carrier composition and water in an amount of at least 5% water based on the weight of the total of the pesticide composition and powdered carrier composition, to form a pliable moist mixture; and
forming the pliable moist mixture into granules;
wherein the carrier composition comprises hydratable calcium sulfate whereby hydration of the hydratable calcium sulfate following granule formation reduces the free water content of the granules to produce hardening of the granules.

PHOTODYNAMIC INHIBITION OF MICROBIAL PATHOGENS IN PLANTS

There is provided a method for inhibiting growth of a microbial pathogen of a plant. The method includes applying to the plant a combination including a nitrogen-bearing macrocyclic compound which is a singlet oxygen photosensitizer selected from the group consisting of a porphyrin, a reduced porphyrin and a mixture thereof; and a chelating agent to increase permeability of the microbial pathogen to the nitrogen-bearing macrocyclic compound; and exposing the plant to light to activate the nitrogen-bearing macrocyclic compound and generate reactive singlet oxygen species.

Enhancing the Antimicrobial Activity of Biocides with Polymers

Disclosed are compositions comprising a) an antimicrobial agent, which is selected from the group consisting of biocides containing halogen atoms and/or containing phenolic moieties, formic acid, chlorine dioxide, chlorine dioxide generating compounds, dialdehydes; components containing an antimicrobial metal such as antimicrobial silver, and b) a polyamine, especially a polyethylenimine. The polyamine is effective as a booster for the antimicrobial agent.
