An applicator for applying an eye-liner, extending along a straight longitudinal axis, including: an application member, in particular an applicator tip, a support carrying the application member, extending along an exposed length along the longitudinal axis of the applicator, a handle defining a gripping surface allowing the user to hold the applicator when applying the product, the handle having at least one cross-section, considered perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the applicator, with a substantially triangular general shape, the handle extending along a length along the longitudinal axis of the applicator, the ratio of the length of the handle to the exposed length of the support being greater than 2, preferably between 2 and 7, and more preferably between 3 and 6, the handle having at least two cross-sections, separate from each other, with a substantially triangular general shape, the two cross-sections being angularly offset relative to each other.

The mascara brush component comprises: a body (12) that extends along a longitudinal direction (X) and that comprises an outer surface, a row of application members (13) that each extend between a first end (16) connected to the body (12) and a free second end (17) at a distance from the body. A cosmetic device with an exchangeable application head and a device body is disclosed, wherein the device body contains a motor and drive mechanism, an actuating switch, a power supply, a head recognition element and a control element adapted to control the motor and drive mechanism based on an actuation of the actuation switch and the application head recognized by the head recognition element. It is provided that the head recognition element comprises at least one mechanical switch disposed on a carrier fixed at the device body. Further, a flexible actuation area is disposed in front of the at least one mechanical switch. The exchangeable application head has at least one recognition generating protrusion actuating through the flexible actuation area on one of the at least one mechanical switches when the exchangeable application head is mounted at the device body.

A combination dispenser and applicator has a dispenser body for mounting the dispenser body over a valve of a container of nail polish. The dispenser body has a brush receiver that receives the nail polish from the valve of the container. A disposable applicator brush, not including a valve, but with bristles adjacent a distal end, is shaped to removably engage the brush receiver. The disposable applicator brushes are inexpensive and disposable, and may be readily changed during use of the combination, so that one of the brushes is not used on multiple persons, thereby enabling a more hygienic method of applying nail polish.

A cosmetic applicator, in particular in the form of a mascara applicator with a core which has a border consisting of fingers that protrude from the core, preferably in the form of bristles. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution for a cosmetic applicator which exhibits an increased material storage capability without substantially impairing the other relevant application properties. This is achieved in that the border has adjacent fingers which are connected together by a flat element that integrally adjoins the circumferential casing surface of both fingers and the core and has a thickness in a direction perpendicular to the main surfaces of the flat element, said thickness being lower than the maximum diameter of each of the bristles which are thus connected.
