ARTICLES INCLUDING BRUSHITE FOR USE AS A BONE OR DENTAL IMPLANT AND METHODS OF FORMING
An article for use as a bone or dental implant and a method of forming said article that includes immersing a silica-based glass substrate in a liquid medium, wherein the liquid medium includes a phosphate source at a concentration of at least about 0.1 moles per liter. The immersing is conducted to convert at least a portion of the silica-based glass substrate into brushite and form the article, wherein the article includes a brushite portion including brushite crystals and a residual glass portion.
CHEMICALLY STRENGTHENED BIOACTIVE GLASS-CERAMICS
A chemically strengthened bioactive glass-ceramic composition as defined herein. Also disclosed are methods of making and using the disclosed compositions.
GLASS COMPOSITION AND GLASS POWDER, IN PARTICULAR FOR THE USE IN THE DENTAL FIELD
The present disclosure relates to a glass composition as well as a glass powder. The disclosure also relates to the use in the dental field, e.g. as dental material such as dental filling or dental restauration material, in particular as or for the production of a glass ionomer cement, for example for the treatment and/or for the filling of cavities in human and/or animal teeth and/or for tooth restoration.
Wollastonite crystallized glass for artificial tooth and method for coloring same
Disclosed are a wollastonite crystallized glass for an artificial tooth and a method for coloring same, the method enabling a production of a uniform shade without degrading the physical properties of a crystallized glass by means of simply adding a small amount of coloring additive powder when preparing the crystallized glass.
Process For Producing A Glazed Ceramic Body
The invention relates to a process for producing a glazed ceramic body, in which (a) a glazing material is applied to a non-densely sintered substrate material and (b) the substrate material and the glazing material are subjected to a heat treatment in a temperature range which extends from a first temperature T.sub.1 to a second temperature T.sub.2, which is higher than the first temperature, in order to obtain the glazed body.
The invention also relates to the use of a glazing material for glazing a non-densely sintered substrate material.
Method for preparing glass-ceramics, capable of adjusting machinability or translucency through change in temperature of heat treatment
Provided is a method for preparing a lithium disilicate glass-ceramics containing silicate as a main component, and more particularly, to a method for preparing a glass-ceramics, which is capable of adjusting machinability or translucency according to a crystalline size by using a first heat treatment or a second heat treatment. To this end, a method for preparing a glass-ceramics containing a silica crystalline phase includes: performing a first heat treatment on a glass composition at a temperature of 400 to 850 C., so that a lithium disilicate crystalline phase and a silica crystalline phase each having a size of 5 to 2,000 nm are formed through the first heat treatment. After the first heat treatment, the method further includes performing a second heat treatment at a temperature of 780 to 880 C., so that translucency is adjusted by a temperature of the second heat treatment.
KIT OF PARTS AND PROCESS FOR FAST FIRING A POROUS ZIRCONIA ARTICLE IN COMBINATION WITH A SURFACE TREATING AGENT CONTAINING A GLASS POWDER
The invention relates to a process of producing a dental zirconia restoration, the dental zirconia restoration having an outer and an inner surface, the process comprising the step of firing a porous dental zirconia restoration and a glass until the porous dental zirconia restoration is sintered, the glass being located during the firing step on at least a portion of the outer surface of the porous dental zirconia restoration, wherein the zirconia material of the porous dental zirconia restoration and the glass are selected such that during the firing step the glass infiltrates the pores of the porous dental zirconia restoration to an extent of not more than 5 m in depth. The invention also relates to a sintered dental zirconia restoration obtainable by such a process and a kit of parts comprising a porous dental zirconia mill blank and a surface treating agent containing a glass for use in such a process.
Dental glass and dental composition
A dental glass includes: phosphorus; sodium and/or potassium; and calcium, wherein the dental glass contains, in terms of oxide, phosphorus (P.sub.2O.sub.5) by greater than or equal to 40% by mass and less than or equal to 70% by mass, sodium and/or potassium (Na.sub.2O, K.sub.2O) by greater than or equal to 20% by mass and less than or equal to 40% by mass, and calcium (CaO) by greater than or equal to 1% by mass and less than or equal to 20% by mass, and wherein the dental glass does not substantially contain silicon and aluminum.
Chemically strengthened bioactive glass-ceramics
A chemically strengthened bioactive glass-ceramic composition as defined herein. Also disclosed are methods of making and using the disclosed compositions.
LITHIUM SILICATE MATERIALS
Lithium silicate materials are described which can be easily processed by machining to dental products without undue wear of the tools.
