The parting agent coating can comprise an aqueous dispersion comprising amorphous silicon dioxide agglomerate particles and a dispersant. The parting agent coating can be dried to forming a parting layer for glass articles in a glass stack for a ceramming process that transforms the glass articles into glass-ceramic articles.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING MULTILAYERED SILICA GLASS BODY
One aspect is a method for producing a multilayered silica glass body. The method involves producing a multilayered silica glass body in which a transparent silica glass layer is provided on the surface of a siliceous substrate made of a siliceous material. The method includes preparing the siliceous substrate, preparing a silica slurry in which silica particles are dispersed in a liquid, applying the silica slurry to the surface of the siliceous substrate, leveling the silica slurry applied to the surface of the siliceous substrate by applying vibration to the siliceous substrate, drying the leveled silica slurry, and vitrifying the dried silica slurry by heating to form a transparent silica glass layer. As a result, a transparent silica glass layer of uniform thickness is obtained at excellent yield, and a method for producing a multilayered silica glass body easily in a short time is provided.
Method for producing thin film, thin film forming material, optical thin film, and optical member
Disclosed are a method for producing an optical thin film having a low refractive index, a thin film forming material, an optical thin film, and an optical member. The method for producing an optical thin film includes forming a vapor deposition film by depositing a thin film forming material on an object in a non-oxidizing atmosphere by a physical vapor deposition method; and bringing the vapor deposition film into contact with a first acidic solution comprising an acidic substance in a range of pH 2.5 or more and pH 3.5 or less to obtain a first thin film having voids, wherein the thin film forming material is a mixture comprising indium oxide and silicon oxide, in which the indium oxide is in a range of 0.230 mol or more and 0.270 mol or less with respect to 1 mol of the silicon oxide.
DOPED ALKALI SILICATE PROTECTIVE LAYERS ON METAL
A method for producing a glass-like protective layer on an optionally pre-coated metal or glass substrate. The method comprises: (a) mixing one or more defined silicon compounds with NaOH and KOH, (b) adding water to the mixture obtained in (a) to hydrolyze the silicon compound(s), (c) adding at least one defined compound of formula MY.sub.m,
where M is Pb, Ti, Zr, Al or B, to the hydrolyzed mixture obtained in (b), wherein the molar ratio M/Si is from 0.01/1 to 0.04/1, to obtain a coating sol, (d) applying the coating sol obtained in (c) to the substrate, and (e) thermal densification of the coating sol applied in d) at a temperature of from 300° C. to 500° C. to form the glass-like protective layer.
FILLED-PORE DECORATIVE LAYER FOR ION EXCHANGE AND AUTOMOTIVE GLASS
The disclosure relates to glass articles having a decorative inorganic layer that is compatible with ion exchange processes and suitable for automotive glass. The inorganic layer comprises a plurality of pores in which polymerizable filler components have been deposited and cross-linked. The porous inorganic layer has a glass transition temperature of greater than 450° C. and a glass softening temperature of less than 650° C. The disclosure also provides glass articles containing the filled porous inorganic layer and methods for preparing the same.
LUMINESCENT GLAZING
A glazing applicable to multiple illumination products comprises a first glass substrate having first and second surfaces, a second glass substrate having third and fourth surfaces, a polymer interlayer laminated between the first and second substrates, and a coating including a first luminescent material and being applied on one of the third and fourth surfaces of the second glass substrate, for emitting light to both of the interior and exterior.
Omni-transparent and superhydrophobic coatings assembled from chain-like nanoparticles
The present invention provides a layered coating adhered to a substrate surface which conforms to a surface topography defined by the anisotropic chain-like silica nanoparticles on the substrate. The layered coating comprises a layer of anisotropic chain-like silica nanoparticles. The anisotropic chain-like silica nanoparticles comprise linked arrays of silica net-negatively charged nanoparticles, each linked array having at least one linear dimension of about 100 nm to about 1200 nm and the anisotropic chain-like silica nanoparticles each have a diameter of about 20 nm to about 80 nm. The substrate surface comprises surface active moieties carrying a net positive charge and the chain-like anisotropic silica nanoparticles are held to the surface by electrostatic charge. Advantageously, the layered coatings are transparent and superhydrophobic. Also provided are articles containing these layered coatings.
Fitout articles and articles of equipment for kitchens or laboratories with a lighting element
A fitout article or article of equipment for a kitchen or laboratory is provided. The article has a lighting and separating element. The separating element in a region of the lighting element has light transmittance of at least 0.1% and less than 12%. The lighting element in the interior emits light that passes through the separating element and to the exterior. The separating element has a glass or glass-ceramic substrate having a CTE of −6 to 6 ppm/K and has a colour locus in the CIELAB colour space with the coordinates L* of 20 to 40, a* of −6 to 6 and b* of −6 to 6.
