SILICA GLASS FILM
The present application relates to a silica glass film. The present application can provide, as a film having a silica network as a main component, a silica glass film capable of solving the disadvantages of the glass material, while having at least one or more advantages of the glass material. Such a silica glass film of the present application can be easily formed through a simple low temperature process without using expensive equipment.
Spill containing refrigerator shelf assembly
The specification discloses a method for containing spills on shelving and the like, and the resulting support members made in accordance with the method, by providing the generally flat top surface of a support with a hydrophobic surface which is arranged in a spill containment pattern and which is generally in the plane of the top surface of the support. The majority of the top surface of the support consists of one or more spill containment areas which are of a non-hydrophobic nature and which are bounded by the hydrophobic surfaces, such that spills on the shelving collect in the non-hydrophobic spill containment area or areas and are prevented from spreading by the hydrophobic surfaces.

HYDROPHILIC SUBSTRATE AND METHOD FOR PREPARING HYDROPHILIC SUBSTRATE
Provided are hydrophilic substrates provided with a hydrophilic polymer layer having controlled surface uniformity and irregularities, and methods for preparing the hydrophilic substrates. Included are hydrophilic substrates including a substrate having a surface containing at least one group represented by —N(R.sup.1).sub.2 or —N(R.sup.2).sub.3.sup.+ wherein each R.sup.1 or R.sup.2 is the same or different and represents a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group optionally containing a hetero atom; and a hydrophilic polymer layer provided on the surface of the substrate.
Bendable glass stack assemblies, articles and methods of making the same
A glass element having a thickness from 25 μm to 125 μm, a first primary surface, a second primary surface, and a compressive stress region extending from the first primary surface to a first depth, the region defined by a compressive stress GI of at least about 100 MPa at the first primary surface. Further, the glass element has a stress profile such that it does not fail when it is subject to 200,000 cycles of bending to a target bend radius of from 1 mm to 20 mm, by the parallel plate method. Still further, the glass element has a puncture resistance of greater than about 1.5 kgf when the first primary surface of the glass element is loaded with a tungsten carbide ball having a diameter of 1.5 mm.

INERTIZATION OF MATERIAL SURFACES BY FUNCTIONALIZED PERFLUORINATED MOLECULES
A method for rendering material surfaces inert is provided. Exemplary surfaces include ceramic, metal or plastic surfaces. The method is accomplished with functionalized perfluorinated compounds for the formation of hyperhydrophobic structures on the surfaces to create inert surfaces. The inert surfaces produced or can be produced in this way have an extremely low surface energy, are resistant to deposits of substances or cells and have a very low coefficient of friction. Practical uses of the inert surfaces are also provided.
