Articles including anticondensation and/or low-E coatings and/or methods of making the same
Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to articles including anticondensation and/or low-E coatings that are exposed to an external environment, and/or methods of making the same. In certain example embodiments, the anticondensation and/or low-E coatings may be survivable in an outside environment. The coatings also may have a sufficiently low sheet resistance and hemispherical emissivity such that the glass surface is more likely to retain heat from the interior area, thereby reducing (and sometimes completely eliminating) the presence condensation thereon. The articles of certain example embodiments may be, for example, skylights, vehicle windows or windshields, IG units, VIG units, refrigerator/freezer doors, and/or the like.
Multifunctional compositions and material laminates with graphitic or other nanomaterials
Compositions and methods for improved materials and material laminates with graphitic or inorganic/organic nanomaterials are presented. Graphitic or inorganic/organic nanomaterials, such as carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibers, graphenes or graphene oxides, are introduced into an aqueous composition as fillers to provide a graphitic or inorganic/organic nanocomposite. Such composition may be used as laminates to improve adhesion between a film and a layer of material or between layers of materials and to increase not only strength properties, but also to provide other desired properties such as electronic properties, UV absorbing/blocking, optical-limiting, anti-reflective, fire-retardant, conducting, anti-microbial properties or pigmentation to say material. By tailoring the composite formulations with multiple graphitic or organic/inorganic nanomaterials, the resulting materials laminates become multifunctional and can be used for a variety of applications.
Conductive paste and glass article
A conductive paste contains at least a conductive powder, glass frit, and an organic vehicle. The conductive powder is a mixed powder of an atomized powder prepared by an atomization method and a wet reduced powder prepared by a wet reduction method and the conductive powder contains the atomized powder in the range of 5 to 40 wt %. The atomized powder is 5.2 to 9 m in average particle size and the content of a chlorine component mixed in the conductive powder is 42 ppm or less. The conductive paste is applied in the form of a line onto a glass substrate 1 and subjected to firing to form conductive films. This conductive paste can prevent glass substrates from undergoing color changes and prevent base layers for conductive films from having structural defects such as cracks.
GLASS SUBSTRATE WITH INCREASED WEATHERING AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
The invention relates in an embodiment to a glass substrate with increased weathering and chemical resistance where a surface bears a SiOxCy coating wherein the O/Si atomic ratio is comprised between 1.75 and 1.95 and the SiOxCy coating thickness is comprised between 10 nm and 80 nm. Other embodiments relate to glazings having a glass substrate where a surface bears a SiOxCy coating wherein the O/Si atomic ratio is comprised between 1.2 and 1.95 and the SiOxCy coating thickness is comprised between 10 nm and 80 nm.
ELECTROCONDUCTIVE PARTICLE, VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMITTING PARTICLE-DISPERSED ELECTRICAL CONDUCTOR AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, TRANSPARENT ELECTROCONDUCTIVE THIN FILM AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, TRANSPARENT ELECTROCONDUCTIVE ARTICLE THAT USES THE SAME, AND INFRARED-SHIELDING ARTICLE
An infrared-shielding nanoparticle dispersion has a property whereby visible light is adequately transmitted, and light in the near-infrared region is adequately shielded. The infrared-shielding nanoparticles include a plural aggregate of electroconductive particles composed of a tungsten oxide expressed by the general formula WyOz (where W is tungsten, O is oxygen, and 2.2z/y2.999), and/or a composite tungsten oxide expressed by the general formula MxWyOz (where M is one or more elements selected from H, alkali metals, alkaline-earth metals, rare earth elements, Mg, Zr, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ru, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Ag, Au, Zn, Cd, Al, Ga, In, Tl, Si, Ge, Sn, Pb, Sb, B, F, P, S, Se, Br, Te, Ti, Nb, V, Mo, Ta, Re, Be, Hf, Os, Bi, and I; W is tungsten; O is oxygen; 0.001x/y1.1; and 2.2z/y3.0).
Method of making hydrophobic coated article, coated article including hydrophobic coatings, and/or sol compositions for use in the same
Certain example embodiments relate to a coated article including a coating formed from a sol that has hydrophobic surface properties. The sol may include a mixture of at least two alkylsiloxane chemicals, with the sol potentially being aged for a certain comparatively short amount of time before being wet-applied to a major substrate surface. The application process may also undergo a certain comparatively short curing process to help provide hydrophobic surface properties. The hydrophobic surface properties help provide anti-soiling functions that are advantageous in a variety of applications including, for example, solar mirror applications.
Sizing composition for fibers, in particular mineral fibers, comprising a non-reducing sugar and an inorganic acid ammonium salt, and resulting products
A formaldehyde-free sizing composition for products based on fibers, in particular mineral fibers, such as fibers of glass or of rock, includes at least one non-reducing sugar, and at least one inorganic acid ammonium salt, preferably chosen from ammonium sulfates, phosphates, nitrates and carbonates. Another subject matter of the present invention is the products thus obtained, in particular thermal and/or acoustic insulators based on mineral wool and veils of nonwoven mineral fibers, and their process of manufacture.

Anti-fog glass, vehicle and method of manufacturing the anti-fog glass
An anti-fog glass includes a glass body configured as a single layer or a multilayer stack; an active anti-fog layer disposed on the glass body and heating up when being provided with power; and a passive anti-fog layer disposed on the glass body and inhibiting fog from forming on the passive anti-fog layer. The passive anti-fog layer is a super hydrophobic coating and/or hydrophilic coating. Both the active anti-fog layer and the passive anti-fog layer are simultaneously disposed on the glass body to inhibit fog from forming. In this way, in a region of the glass body not covered by the active anti-fog layer, the anti-fog function is achieved by the passive anti-fog layer to a certain degree; in addition, in a region where the passive anti-fog layer itself cannot provide a desired anti-fog level, the active anti-fog layer together with the passive anti-fog layer provide a better anti-fog effect.
