Glass and method of manufacturing the same
A method of manufacturing a glass includes forming a first etch protection layer on a first surface of a glass substrate, and forming a second etch protection layer on a second surface of the glass substrate; removing a part of the first protection layer and a part of the second protection layer by applying a laser pulse penetrating the glass substrate from above the first surface of the glass substrate; forming a cut part in the glass substrate by etching the glass substrate using an etching solution; and removing the first etch protection layer and the second etch protection layer. The second surface is opposite to the first surface.
Glass articles coated with silica-based parting agent and methods of ceramming the same
Coated glass articles for a glass-ceramic ceramming process including a parting agent coated on a surface of the glass article. The parting agent coating can comprise an aqueous dispersion comprising amorphous silicon dioxide agglomerate particles and a dispersant. The parting agent coating can be dried to forming a parting layer for glass articles in a glass stack for a ceramming process that transforms the glass articles into glass-ceramic articles.
Method for manufacturing touch device and resin composition thereof
Discussed is a method for manufacturing a touch device, the method including forming a protective layer per touch sensor on first and second surfaces of a mother substrate on which two or more touch sensors are formed; dividing the mother substrate into two or more substrates of a touch sensor unit by mechanically cutting or chemically treating the mother substrate; chemically strengthening an edge of each of the divided substrates; and removing the protective layer from at least one divided substrate.
SACRIFICIAL LAYER FOR ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICE FABRICATION
Methods for protecting transparent electronically conductive layers on glass substrates are described herein. Methods include depositing a sacrificial coating during deposition of the transparent electronically conductive layer, before packing the glass substrate for storage or shipping, after unpacking glass substrates from a stack of glass substrates, and/or after a washing operation prior to fabricating an electrochromic stack on the transparent electronically conductive layer. Methods also include removing the sacrificial coating during a washing operation, during tempering, or prior to depositing an electrochromic stack by, e.g., heating the sacrificial coating or exposing the sacrificial coating to an inert plasma.
METHOD FOR OBTAINING A CURVED LAMINATED GLAZING UNIT
A method for obtaining a curved laminated glazing unit, includes applying an enamel coating to a part of a first face of a first glass sheet so as to create at least one enameled zone and at least one unenameled zone, applying a sacrificial layer to a part, called the sacrificial zone, of a first face of a second glass sheet, simultaneously bending the first and second glass sheets, the sacrificial zone being disposed at least in line with at least one part of an enameled zone, removing the sacrificial layer, either during the bending or after the bending step, and laminating the first and second glass sheets by a thermoplastic interlayer.
Burn-off protective coating
A protected substrate includes a planar substrate having a surface and a burn-off temporary protective layer positioned over at least a portion of the surface. The burn-off temporary protective layer includes a wax, a polyolefin, a polyester, a polycarbonate, a polyether, or some combination thereof. The burn-off temporary protective layer is removable by a heat treatment process that does not substantially damage the surface. Various other protected substrates and methods for protecting a substrate are also disclosed.
Article intended to be tempered that is protected by a temporary layer
An article includes a glass substrate comprising two main faces defining two main surfaces separated by edges, the substrate bearing a functional coating deposited on at least one portion of a main surface and a temporary protective layer deposited on at least one portion of the functional coating having a thickness of at least 1 micrometer, wherein the temporary protective layer includes an organic polymer matrix and infrared-absorbing materials.
TEMPERED GLASS PLATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
The present invention relates to a strengthened glass sheet having a first main surface, a second main surface which faces the first main surface, and an end surface, in which at least one of the first main surface and the second main surface has a surface compressive stress formed by a chemical strengthening treatment, the strengthened glass sheet includes a strengthened portion in which a planar compressive stress is formed along the end surface in a direction parallel with the end surface, the planar compressive stress of the strengthened portion has a maximum value of 1-120 MPa, and the strengthened portion has a width, as measured from the end surface in a direction normal to the end surface, of 0.5 times or more a thickness of the strengthened glass sheet.
METHOD FOR THE SELECTIVE ETCHING OF A LAYER OR A STACK OF LAYERS ON A GLASS SUBSTRATE
A process for depositing on a glass substrate a mineral functional layer or stack, includes depositing on the substrate a laser-crosslinkable organic photosensitive resin liquid composition, locally crosslinking the resin by a laser, removing the non-crosslinked liquid composition, depositing on the substrate thus coated a mineral functional layer or stack, and then performing combustion of the crosslinked solid resin via a heat treatment, completing its removal and that of the mineral layer or stack via a mechanical action, so as to obtain the mineral layer or stack in a pattern corresponding to the negative of that made with the crosslinked solid resin.
