Hydrophobic window, house and vehicle using the same
The disclosure relates to a hydrophobic window. The hydrophobic window includes a frame, a glass embedded in the frame, and a hydrophobic film on a surface of the glass. The hydrophobic film comprises a flexible substrate and a hydrophobic layer on a surface of the flexible substrate. The hydrophobic layer comprises a base and a patterned bulge layer on a surface of the base.
Method for manufacturing reinforced glass plate, and method for manufacturing glass plate for reinforcement
Provided is a method of manufacturing a tempered glass sheet that has been tempered by an ion exchange process, the method including: a film forming step of covering a surface of an original glass sheet with an ion permeation suppressing film configured to suppress permeation of an alkali metal ion, to thereby provide a glass sheet with a film; a processing step of subjecting, after the film forming step, the glass sheet with a film to at least any one of cutting processing, end-surface processing, and hole-opening processing, to thereby provide a glass sheet to be tempered including an exposed portion free from being covered with the ion permeation suppressing film; and a tempering step of chemically tempering, after the processing step, the glass sheet to be tempered by the ion exchange process to provide a tempered glass sheet.
Glass article and method for forming the same
A method includes forming a glass article. The glass article includes a core and a clad adjacent to the core. The core includes a first glass composition. The clad includes a second glass composition different than the first glass composition. A degradation rate of the second glass composition in a reagent is greater than a degradation rate of the first glass composition in the reagent.
ITEM PROTECTED BY A ROUGH TEMPORARY PROTECTIVE COVER
An article includes a glass substrate including two main faces defining two main surfaces separated by edges and a temporary protective layer comprising an organic polymer matrix deposited on at least one portion of a main surface of the glass substrate, wherein the temporary protective layer has a rough surface defined by a surface roughness parameter Sa, corresponding to the arithmetic mean height of the profile of the surface, of greater than 0.2 m.
ARTICLES OF CONTROLLABLY BONDED SHEETS AND METHODS FOR MAKING SAME
Described herein are articles and methods of making articles, including a first sheet and a second sheet, wherein the thin sheet and carrier are bonded together using a coating layer, preferably a hydrocarbon polymer coating layer, and associated deposition methods and inert gas treatments that may be applied on either sheet, or both, to control van der Waals, hydrogen and covalent bonding between the sheets. The coating layer bonds the sheets together to prevent formation of a permanent bond at high temperature processing while at the same time maintaining a sufficient bond to prevent delamination during high temperature processing.
Substrate having a functional coating and a temporary protection layer
The invention relates to a substrate comprising two main faces defining two main surfaces separated by edges, said substrate bearing a functional coating deposited on at least one portion of one main surface and a temporary protective layer deposited on at least one portion of the functional coating. The temporary protective layer, cured by drying, by UV irradiation or by an electron beam, has a thickness of at least 1 micrometer and is not soluble in water. This temporary protective layer is obtained from a liquid composition comprising (meth)acrylate compounds selected from monomers, oligomers, prepolymers or polymers comprising at least one (meth)acrylate function.
DEVICE MODIFIED SUBSTRATE ARTICLE AND METHODS FOR MAKING
A method of making a device substrate article having a device modified substrate supported on a glass carrier substrate, including: treating at least a portion of the first surface of a device substrate, at least a portion of a first surface of a glass carrier, or a combination thereof, wherein the treating produces a surface having: silicon; oxygen; carbon; and fluorine amounts; and a metal to fluorine ratio as defined herein; contacting the treated surface with an untreated or like-treated counterpart device substrate or glass carrier substrate to form a laminate comprised of the device substrate bonded to the glass carrier substrate; modifying at least a portion of the non-bonded second surface of the device substrate of the laminate with at least one device surface modification treatment; and separating the device substrate having the device modified second surface from the glass carrier substrate.
ARTICLE INTENDED TO BE TEMPERED THAT IS PROTECTED BY A TEMPORARY LAYER
An article includes a glass substrate comprising two main faces defining two main surfaces separated by edges, the substrate bearing a functional coating deposited on at least one portion of a main surface and a temporary protective layer deposited on at least one portion of the functional coating having a thickness of at least 1 micrometer, wherein the temporary protective layer includes an organic polymer matrix and infrared-absorbing materials.
