A raw meal and clinker are provided based on animal by-products, such as bone ash. The resulting cement contains clinker phases such as: tricalcium phosphate (TCP), calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA), calcium aluminate phases (CA, CA.sub.2, CA.sub.6, C.sub.12A.sub.7, among others), hydroxyapatite (HA), and minor phases (anhydrite, lime, among others).

Exhaust gas pollution reduction

A method for reducing pollution in exhaust gases and a system for treating exhaust gas are provided. The method includes the step of treating an exhaust gas stream with a treating fluid. In one application, the treating fluid is injected by spraying droplets into the exhaust gas stream. A system for treating exhaust gas includes a reagent, and a nozzle to spray the reagent into the exhaust gas stream.

Control Heat of Hydration by Characterizing Cementitious Components

Methods of wellbore cementing are provided. A method of designing a cement composition may include: selecting a target heat of hydration for a target time and temperature; selecting one or more cementitious components and a weight percent for each of the one or more cementitious components such that a sum of a heat of hydration of the one or more cementitious components is less than or equal to the target heat of hydration; preparing the cement composition; and allowing the cement composition to set.

Systems and methods for carbon capture

The present disclosure provides systems for carbon capture in combination with production of one or more industrially useful materials. The disclosure also provides methods for carrying out carbon capture in combination with an industrial process. In particular, carbon capture can include carrying out calcination in a reactor, separation of carbon dioxide rich flue gases from industrially useful products, and capture of at least a portion of the carbon dioxide for sequestration of other use, such as enhanced oil recovery.

Described are cementitious reagent materials produced from globally abundant inorganic feedstocks. Also described are methods for the manufacture of such cementitious reagent materials and forming the reagent materials as microspheroidal glassy particles. Also described are apparatuses, systems and methods for the thermochemical production of glassy cementitious reagents with spheroidal morphology. The apparatuses, systems and methods makes use of an in-flight melting/quenching technology such that solid particles are flown in suspension, melted in suspension, and then quenched in suspension. The cementitious reagents can be used in concrete to substantially reduce the CO.sub.2 emission associated with cement production.
