Development of Alcoholic sucrose-based Superplasticizer for Geo-polymeric concrete and its process thereof
A geo-polymeric concrete and a process for preparing the geo-polymeric concrete is disclosed. The geo-polymeric concrete includes class F fly ash in a range from 10-20 wt %, of the design mix river sand in a range from 25-40 wt % of the design mix, a natural aggregate in a range from 15 to 40 wt % of the design mix, silica fume in a range from 1 to 2 wt % of class F fly ash, an alkaline activator solution and a superplasticizer in a range from 0.5 to 3 wt %. The materials used for preparing the superplasticizer are easily available in the market in abundance at a reasonable cost. The superplasticizer is economically viable and improves the workability of the geo-polymeric concrete. The presence of the superplasticizer does not affect the compressive strength of the geo-polymeric concrete.
Lightweight aggregate ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) and preparation method thereof
The disclosure relates to the technical field of building materials, and in particular, to lightweight aggregate ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) and a preparation method thereof. The lightweight aggregate UHPC provided in the disclosure is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: cement 220-260 parts; silica fume 100-120 parts; expanded perlite powder 120-160 parts; expanded perlite 230-260 parts; polycarboxylate superplasticizer 15-20 parts; steel fiber 76-93 parts; and water 140-160 parts, where a maximum particle size of the expanded perlite powder is 0.075 mm; and a particle size range of the expanded perlite is 0.075-0.6 mm. The lightweight UHPC prepared according to the design of the disclosure has excellent density performance, and can satisfy requirements of concrete components, etc. in service in super-long-span bridges, super high-rise buildings, and complex marine environments for lightweight, ultra-high strength, and ultra-high durability of cement-based materials, and has a relatively high promotion value.
MODIFICATION OF PROPERTIES OF POZZOLANIC MATERIALS THROUGH BLENDING
Methods for producing a blended pozzolan having one or more characteristics, such as one or more chemical and/or physical characteristic, in an established amount or range from two or more different pozzolans. Two or more pozzolans having different chemical and/or physical characteristics can be blended together and a chemical analyzer used to determine a chemical and/or physical characteristic of the blended pozzolan. Upon determining that the chemical and/or physical characteristic of the blended pozzolan is outside the established amount or range, modifying a blending ratio of the two or more pozzolans to restore the chemical and/or physical characteristic to the established amount or range.
Pozzolanic compositions containing fly ash and remediation agents for use in cementitious materials
It has been unexpectedly discovered that the addition of a natural or other pozzolan to non-spec fly ash significantly improves the properties of the non-spec fly ash to the extent it can be certified under ASTM C618 and AASHTO 295, as either a Class F or Class C fly ash. The natural pozzolan may be a volcanic ejecta, such as pumice or perlite. Other pozzolans may also be used for this beneficiation process. Many pozzolans are experimentally tested and may be used to beneficiate non-spec fly ash into certifiable Class F fly ash. Additionally, this disclosure provides a method of converting a Class C fly ash to a more valuable Class F fly ash. This discovery will extend diminishing Class F fly ash supplies and turn non-spec fly ash waste streams into valuable, certified fly ash pozzolan which will protect and enhance concrete, mortars and grouts.
ADDITIVE AND ADMIXTURE FOR CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITIONS, CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITIONS, CEMENTITIOUS STRUCTURES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
An additive for cementitious compositions for mitigating alkali-silica reaction (ASR) includes particles of alkali-silica reaction mitigating that are against agglomeration. The additive may be provided in an aqueous liquid admixture composition for cementitious compositions that includes the alkali-silica reaction mitigating additive, a thickening agent and water. The admixture utilizes a pH sensitive thickener in combination with pH adjustment to stabilize the particles of alkali-silica reaction mitigating additive against agglomeration. The admixture composition is used to mitigate the alkali-silica reactions in a cementitious composition. Methods of making the admixture, cementitious compositions and hardened cementitious structures are also disclosed.
Cementitious composition with high bond strength to both asphalt and cement based materials
A hydratable cement composition which will bond to both asphalt and cementitious substrates is supplied for the repair of various surfaces. The composition comprises of a combination of Portland cement, calcium sulfoaluminate cement or calcium aluminosilicate, and an alkali metal salt activated pozzolonic powder, wherein the Portland cement content of the hydratable portion of the composition is greater than 20%. The composition is free from latex bonding agents and calcium aluminate. The composition is mixed with water to form a typical cement, mortar, or concrete consistency, placed and allowed to cure. The result is a self-adhering patch to damaged surfaces. The hydratable cement composition may also be used to fabricate items of original construction by casting into molds or forms.
