ENHANCEMENT OF REINFORCING FIBERS, THEIR APPLICATIONS, AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
The invention relates to composite reinforcing fibers infused or compounded with pulp fibers and/or nano-fibers. The composite reinforcing fibers are composed of polymer, e.g., polymer resin. The pulp fibers and/or nano-fibers impart improved tensile strength to the composite reinforcing fibers, as well as a resulting product formed by the fibers. The composite reinforcing fibers may be used in a variety of cementitious applications, wherein traditional reinforcing fibers are typically used.
AEROGEL CONTAINING CONSTRUCTION BOARD
A construction product described herein includes a fiber core that includes a plurality of entangled glass fibers. The fiber core also includes a binder that bonds the plurality of entangled glass fibers together and an Aerogel material that is homogenously or uniformly disposed within the fiber core. In some instances, the fiber core includes between 40 and 80 weight percent of the Aerogel material. The construction product has an R-value of at least 6.5 per inch, a flame spread index of no greater than 5, and a smoke development index of no greater than 20 as measured according to the ASTM E-84 tunnel test.
Polymer Fibers For Reinforcement Of Cement-Based Composites
The present invention relates to a polymer composition for forming fibers for reinforcement of cement-based composites, polymer fibers made from the composition and methods of making the polymer fibers. The polymer composition comprises an olefin polymer and a bonding agent comprising vinyl alcohol based polymer, a pozzolanic material or a combination thereof.
Glass mat for roofing products
A glass mat includes an assembly of glass fibers, a binder composition and an asphaltic coating. The binder composition includes an organic resin and an adhesion promoter. The glass mat has an at least 2% increase in tear strength as measured using the methods specified in ASTM D3462, compared to an asphaltic coated glass mat having a binder composition without the adhesion promoter. Further provided is an asphalt roofing product including the glass mat and a method of increasing tear strength in an asphalt roofing product.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURE AND USE OF LOAD BEARING INTERLOCKING STRUCTURAL BLOCKS AND MODULAR BUILDING SYSTEM
Method of making construction materials intended for use as structural elements, such as structural blocks, used in the construction of buildings and civil engineering structures. In one aspect, the blocks may comprise a body shape configured so as to allow it to interlock with other blocks in the construction of a structure. Methods for manufacturing the blocks and structures comprising such materials and methods for building such structures are also disclosed.
SURFACE-MODIFIED POLYOLEFIN FIBERS
The present invention relates to surface-modified polyolefin fibers, the use of these fibers in hydraulic binder compositions, hydraulic binder compositions containing these fibers and a method for reinforcing hydraulic binder compositions.
Concrete structure repaired and reinforced using textile grid reinforcement and highly durable inorganic binder and method of repairing and reinforcing the same
Provided are a concrete structure repaired and reinforced using a textile grid reinforcement and a highly durable inorganic binder and a method of repairing and reinforcing the same, capable of easily repairing and reinforcing an old concrete structure by adhering a textile grid reinforcement, which is coated with a coating material to improve adhesiveness, to the old concrete structure and by adhering a textile grid reinforcement selectively using a highly durable inorganic binder having chloride penetration resistance performance or chemical resistance performance according to a use environment and a reinforcement purpose, that is, by adhering a textile grid reinforcement using an inorganic binder such as cement in place of an organic adhesive. Further, the concrete structure has excellent refractory performance because both the textile grid reinforcement such as a carbon fiber and the highly durable inorganic binder are incombustible materials, and can be effectively applied to reinforcing facilities exposed to the danger of fire.
Bi-component fibers with EVOH on the surface for concrete reinforcement
The present invention provides bi-component polymeric macrofibers having an ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVOH) outer component and a core or second component comprising a polymer blend of polypropylene grafted with maleic anhydride and polypropylene or polyethylene. The bi-component polymeric macrofibers provide excellent fiber reinforcement in concrete applications.

Composite Fibers and Method of Producing Fibers
Composite fibers created by a process including vertically texturizing and impregnating resin into the fibers at controlled viscosity results in stronger fibers in which virtually no microbubbles are trapped resulting in improved tensile strength for use in reinforcing concrete and other materials.
