Methods and systems for reclaiming materials from a mixed waste landfill containing coal combustion byproducts (CCBs) are disclosed. The methods and systems can be used to reclaim CCBs from ponds or dry landfills by obtaining mixed waste, crushing the mixed waste to form crushed mixed waste, drying the crushed mixed waste to form dried crushed mixed waste, and combining the dried crushed mixed waste with other compounds to form a blend. The blends can then be incorporated into a cement material, which may be used to form concrete.

An example method includes introducing a cement composition into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation, the cement composition comprising a composite material, a cement, and an aqueous fluid. The composite material comprises a monophase amorphous hydraulic binder material and a particulate core. The monophase amorphous hydraulic binder material coats the particulate core. The method further comprises allowing the cement composition to set in the wellbore.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUBGRADE UTILITY VAULTS, LIDS AND TRENCHES USING RECYCLED POLYSTYRENE
Methods, compositions, and apparatuses are provided herein that utilize polystyrene from recycled products to make a high strength composite concrete that can be used for subgrade utility vaults, utility trenches, etc. Polystyrene is a widely-used plastic that can be collected and then densified at particular parameters including temperature to transform the polystyrene to a usable form. Then, the densified polystyrene is combined with other resin materials and dry materials to form a high-strength concrete material. The amount of densified polystyrene that is combined with the other materials is critical to control shrinkage and expansion of the concrete material during manufacturing.

A concrete composition that includes (i) a treated palm oil fuel ash, wherein the treated palm oil fuel ash is the only binder present, (ii) a fine aggregate, (iii) a coarse aggregate, and (iv) an alkali activator containing an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate. A cured concrete made from the concrete composition is also disclosed with advantageous compressive strength properties.
