Cement slurries, cured cement and methods of making and use thereof

Cement slurries, cured cements, and methods of making cured cement and methods of using cement slurries are provided. The cement slurries have, among other attributes, improved rheology, such as improved flowability and pumpability and may be used, for instance, in the oil and gas drilling industry. The cement slurry contains water, a cement precursor material and a surfactant having the formula R(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.xOH where R is a hydrocarbyl group comprising from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and x is an integer from 1 and 10. The cured cement have improved strength and density properties due to reduced fluid loss and even placement during curing. The cured cement contains a surfactant having the formula R(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.xOH where R is a hydrocarbyl group comprising from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and x is an integer from 1 and 10.

Development of anti-bit balling fluids

Anti-bit balling drilling fluids and methods of making and using drilling fluids are provided. The anti-bit balling drilling fluid contains water, a clay-based component, and at least one of a surfactant having the formula: R(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.xOH, where R is a hydrocarbyl group having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and x is an integer from 1 and 10, or a polyethylene glycol having the formula: H(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.nOH, where n is an integer from 1 to 50. Methods of making and using these drilling fluids are also provided.

Enhanced filtration control packages, wellbore servicing fluids utilizing the same, and methods of maintaining the structure of a wellbore

A wellbore servicing fluid comprises an aqueous base fluid, one or more alkali metal or alkali earth metal salts, at least one visocisifier, and a filtration control package. The filtration control package may comprise a carboxylic acid and an ethoxylated alcohol compound. Alternatively, the filtration control package may comprise a polyethylene glycol. The carboxylic acid may have from 8 to 20 carbon atoms. The ethoxylated alcohol compound may have a general formula R(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.xOH, where R is a hydrocarbon having from 10 to 16 atoms and x is an integer from 6 to 9. The ethoxylated alcohol compound may have a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of from 8.0 to 16.0. The polyethylene glycol may have a mass average molar mass (M.sub.w) of less than or equal to 1500 daltons.

DEVELOPMENT OF ANTI-BIT BALLING FLUIDS

Anti-bit balling drilling fluids and methods of making and using drilling fluids are provided. The anti-bit balling drilling fluid contains water, a clay-based component, and at least one of a surfactant having the formula: R(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.xOH, where R is a hydrocarbyl group having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and x is an integer from 1 and 10, or a polyethylene glycol having the formula: H(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.nOH, where n is an integer from 1 to 50. Methods of making and using these drilling fluids are also provided.

SPACER FLUID COMPOSITIONS, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS FOR AQUEOUS BASED DRILLING MUD REMOVAL

Spacer fluids include an emulsion, a surfactant package, and at least one additive that modifies the rheology of the spacer fluid, the density of the spacer fluid, or both. The emulsion may include an aqueous external phase and a hydrocarbon-based internal phase. The surfactant package may include one or more surfactants. The surfactant package may also include a surfactant having the general structure R(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.9OH, where R is a hydrocarbyl having 12 carbon atoms, 13 carbon atoms, or 14 carbon atoms. The spacer fluid may contain at least 4.25 pounds of R(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.9OH per barrel of the spacer fluid.

METHOD FOR THE HIGH SPEED INDENTATION OF A RECYCLABLE HEAT EXCHANGER IN A LAND-BASED INFRASTRUCTURE

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a road surfacing comprising on the surface the pipes of a heat exchanger device, characterised in that it comprises the following steps: a) spreading at a temperature below 160 C. asphalt mix, comprising a granular fraction, a hydrocarbon-based binder, said asphalt mix being workable, having a workability, measured with a Nynas workability meter at the working temperature of the asphalt mix, of less than 400N, then b) depositing the pipes, said pipes having a crushing strength greater than 3000 N per linear metre of pipe at 100 C., a thermal expansion less than 200.10.sup.6 K.sup.1 at 20 C. in such a way as to enable their indentation even in the absence of cooling means or pressure application means, then c) indenting the deposited pipes into said integration layer by compacting said asphalt mix during the workability period of said asphalt mix, to form an integration layer comprising the pipes of a heat exchanger device, then d) applying a surface layer there above for the road surface, in particular a surface course.

The present invention also relates to a method for recycling a road surface.

GRINDING STABILIZING ADDITIVE FOR VERTICAL ROLLER MILLS

Method for grinding a solid in a vertical roller mill (VRM) and a cement composition prepared by the disclosed methods. A method comprises grinding a solid comprising a cement clinker under a water spray in the presence of a grinding stabilizing additive, wherein the grinding stabilizing additive comprises: (i) an alkanol amino acid compound or a disodium or dipotassium salt thereof having the structural formula:

(ii) a glycol; or a mixture of (i) and (ii), wherein the water spray level is reduced by at least 5% compared to a control. Cement compositions prepared by the disclosed methods have the pre-hydration level (W.sub.k) equal to or less than 1.5%. The values and preferred values of R.sup.1-3 are disclosed herein.

GRINDING STABILIZING ADDITIVE FOR VERTICAL ROLLER MILLS

Method for grinding a solid in a vertical roller mill (VRM) and a cement composition prepared by the disclosed methods. A method comprises grinding a solid comprising a cement clinker under a water spray in the presence of a grinding stabilizing additive, wherein the grinding stabilizing additive comprises: (i) an alkanol amino acid compound or a disodium or dipotassium salt thereof having the structural formula:
