METHOD OF APPLICATION OF SLIDING-RING POLYMERS TO ENHANCE ELASTIC PROPERTIES IN OIL-WELL CEMENT
20210102112 · 2021-04-08 ·

This document relates to methods for improving the tensile and elastic properties of cement of an oil well using cement compositions that contain sliding-ring polymer additives. The cement compositions containing the sliding-ring polymer additives exhibit increased stiffness while having a minimum impact on compressive strength, as compared to the same cement without the sliding-ring polymer additive.

Colloidal vesicles for use as dedusting agents in construction panels

Ceiling tiles and wallboards can be produced with vesicle dedusting agent. For example, a ceiling tile can comprise: a dried base mat that includes: (a) mineral wool; (b) binder; (c) a vesicle dedusting agent at about 0.01 to about 10 wt %, wherein the vesicle dedusting agent comprises vesicles; (d) optionally cellulosic fiber; (e) optionally perlite; (f) optionally glass fiber; and (g) optionally calcium sulfate dihydrate. For example, a wallboard produced from a slurry comprising: (a) calcium sulfate hemihydrate at 70 to 95 wt %; (b) a vesicle dedusting agent at about 0.01 to about 10 wt %, wherein the vesicle dedusting agent comprises vesicles; (c) optionally cellulose fibers at about 0.5 to about 3 wt %; (d) optionally at least one dispersant at about 0.01 to about 2 wt %; and (e) water at a ratio of water to dry components of about 1:6 to about 20:1.

CROSS-LINKED POLYROTAXANES AND THEIR APPLICATION IN CEMENT
20210130676 · 2021-05-06 ·

This document relates to methods for preventing or inhibiting the formation of micro-cracks and fractures in the cement of an oil well using cement compositions that contain cross-linked polyrotaxane additives. The cement compositions containing the cross-linked polyrotaxane additives exhibit increased stiffness without suffering a decrease in compressive strength, as compared to the same cement without the cross-linked polyrotaxane additive.

MORTAR CONTAINING POLYURETHANE DISPERSION WITH ETHYLENE OXIDE UNITS

A composition including: at least one waterbased polyurethane dispersion containing ethylene oxide units; at least one cement; and at least one mineral filler. The composition can be mixed and applied without coagulation of the polyurethane dispersion. Upon curing, it has a high strength and good adhesion properties, with surprisingly low shrinkage and most surprisingly good water impermeability properties. It is particularly suitable for the use as repair mortar, waterproofing mortar or screed mortar.

Process for modifying polymer particles of an aqueous polymer dispersion, an aqueous polymer dispersion obtainable by said process, a redispersible polymer powder, and a composition comprising the redispersible polymer powder

The invention relates to a process for modifying polymer particles of an aqueous polymer dispersion in which positively or negatively charged polymer particles are provided with an inorganic salt shell. The inorganic shell leads to an improved drying ability and storage stability of the latex and improves the storage stability of the resulting polymer powder. The obtained polymer powder exhibits an improved viscosity and faster skin-forming time in the final application and is therefore particularly useful in a building material composition.
