FLUID LOSS CONTROL ADDITIVE
Fluid loss control additives for a cement slurry are provided. An exemplary fluid loss control additive includes a copolymer containing 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid monomer units and acryloylmorpholine monomer units, and a graft copolymer. The graft copolymer contains a humate and, grafted onto the humate, a side-chain polymer containing at least one of acrylamide monomer units, acryloylmorpholine monomer units, acrylic acid monomer units, and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid monomer units.
RENEWABLE ADMIXTURES FOR CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITIONS
Cementitious compositions comprising a hydraulic cementitious material, a compound selected from the group consisting of a polyhydroxy aromatic compound, a polycarboxylic acid-containing compound or a salt thereof, ascorbic acid or a salt thereof, or a combination thereof, and a particulate material or a water soluble silicate-containing material that interacts with the compound are described herein. The polyhydroxy aromatic compound can be a water soluble compound having from two to thirty hydroxyl groups. The particulate material can exhibit a particle size distribution, wherein at least about 90% by weight of the particles have a diameter of less than 2 mm. Suitable particulate materials include nanoparticles and microparticles. The cementitious compositions can be used to form building materials. The cementitious compositions are especially suited for inhibiting corrosion of reinforcing steel bars embedded in concrete mixtures. Methods of making and using the cementitious composition are also disclosed.
RENEWABLE ADMIXTURES FOR CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITIONS
Cementitious compositions comprising a hydraulic cementitious material, a compound selected from the group consisting of a polyhydroxy aromatic compound, a polycarboxylic acid-containing compound or a salt thereof, ascorbic acid or a salt thereof, or a combination thereof, and a particulate material or a water soluble silicate-containing material that interacts with the compound are described herein. The polyhydroxy aromatic compound can be a water soluble compound having from two to thirty hydroxyl groups. Anti-filming surface-active agent
The invention relates to an anti-filming surface-active admixture for hydraulic binders, including at least one fatty alcohol and at least one oil, to the method for preparing same, and to a method for preparing a hydraulic binder composition suitable for the manufacture of screeds or concretes, comprising the step of adding, to the hydraulic binder composition, the admixture according to the invention in a metered amount of 0.1 to 5 wt % with respect to the weight of the hydraulic binder.
Anti-filming surface-active agent
The invention relates to an anti-filming surface-active admixture for hydraulic binders, including at least one fatty alcohol and at least one oil, to the method for preparing same, and to a method for preparing a hydraulic binder composition suitable for the manufacture of screeds or concretes, comprising the step of adding, to the hydraulic binder composition, the admixture according to the invention in a metered amount of 0.1 to 5 wt % with respect to the weight of the hydraulic binder.
TWO COMPONENT SYNTHETIC WATER RETENTION AGENT AND RHEOLOGY MODIFIER FOR USE IN CEMENTS, MORTARS AND PLASTERS
The present invention provides compositions useful as a replacement for cellulose ether in cement, plaster or mortar compositions comprising i) nonionic or substantially nonionic vinyl or acrylic brush polymers having pendant or side chain polyether groups, and having a relative weight average molecular weight of from 140,000 to 50,000,000 g/mole, and ii) aromatic cofactors containing one or more phenolic groups, such as catechol tannins, phenolic resins, polyphenolics, and napthhols or, in combination, one or more aromatic groups with at least one sulfur acid group, such as naphthalene sulfonate aldehyde condensate polymers, poly(styrene-co-styrene sulfonate) copolymers, and lignin sulfonates, preferably branched cofactors, including phenolic resins, aldehyde condensate polymers and lignin sulfonates. The compositions may comprise a dry powder blend of i) and ii), one dry powder of both i) and ii), or an aqueous mixture.

The present invention provides compositions for use as stable additive concentrates, such as aqueous solutions or powders, in cement admixtures comprising i) one or more nonionic or substantially nonionic vinyl or acrylic brush polymers having pendant or side chain polyether groups and having a weight average molecular weight of from 140,000 to 50,000,000, ii) one or more aromatic cofactors containing one or more phenolic groups or, in combination, one or more aromatic groups with at least one sulfur acid group, preferably, a branched aromatic cofactor; and iii) one or more polycarboxylate ether copolymer water reducers containing carboxylic acid or salt groups and having polyether side chains and a weight average molecular weight of from 5,000 to 100,000.
SHRINKAGE-REDUCING AGENT FOR HYDRAULIC MATERIAL
The present invention aims to provide a shrinkage reducing agent that exhibits high performance to reduce the shrinkage of hydraulic materials. The present invention relates to a shrinkage reducing agent for a hydraulic material including a compound that satisfies the following conditions (1) to (4): (1) a ratio represented by {(15-drop flow value of a mortar composition containing the compound)/(15-drop flow value of a mortar free from the compound)}×100 is 120 or less, wherein the (15-drop flow value of a mortar composition containing the compound) means a 15-drop flow value of a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 0.1% after 10 minutes mixing and the (15-drop flow value of a mortar free from the compound) means a 15-drop flow value of a mortar free from the compound after 10 minutes mixing; (2) a ratio represented by {(ratio between 15-drop flow values after two hours mixing)/(ratio between 15-drop flow values after 10 minutes mixing)}×100 is 110 or less, wherein the (ratio between 15-drop flow values after two hours mixing) means a ratio of a 15-drop flow value of a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 0.1% after two hours mixing to a 15-drop flow value of a mortar free from the compound after two hours mixing, and the (ratio between 15-drop flow values after 10 minutes mixing) means a ratio of a 15-drop flow value of a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 0.1% after 10 minutes mixing to a 15-drop flow value of a mortar free from the compound after 10 minutes mixing; (3) the compound has an average particle diameter of 2.2 to 8.5 nm in an alkaline solution; and (4) a product of {(ratio between 15-drop flow values relating to a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 1.0%)×(ratio between 15-drop flow values relating to a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 0.1%)} is 10,100 or more, wherein the (ratio between 15-drop flow values relating to a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 1.0%) means a ratio of a 15-drop flow value of a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 1.0% after 10 minutes mixing to a 15-drop flow value of a mortar free from the compound after 10 minutes mixing, and the (ratio between 15-drop flow values relating to a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 0.1%) means a ratio of a 15-drop flow value of a mortar composition containing the compound at a solid concentration of 0.1% after 10 minutes mixing to a 15-drop flow value of a mortar free from the compound after 10 minute
