SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING ADAPTIVE PHYSICAL FEEDBACK TO A USER OF A HAND-HELD DEVICE
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for providing adaptive physical feedback to a user of an oral care device. Methods for providing adaptive physical indicators to a user of a hand-held device comprise: determining, by a controller and one or more sensors of the hand-held device, a current orientation or position of the hand-held device; determining, by a controller of the hand-held device, a deviation from a target orientation for the hand-held device or a proximity of the hand-held device to target locations; determining, by a controller of the hand-held device, a desired correction of orientation or position; and providing, using a sensory feedback module of the hand-held device, a physical indicator to a user.
TOOTHBRUSH SYSTEM
A toothbrush apparatus, a method, and a medical system. The apparatus includes a sensing module configured to detect one or more brushing parameters for determining at least a brushing intensity. One or more processors are communicatively coupled to the sensing module and are configured to determine at least the brushing intensity and output the determined brushing intensity.
Oral care implement and refill head thereof
An oral care implement including a handle and an oral care refill head. The handle has a gripping portion, an engagement component coupled to a distal end of the gripping portion, and a stem. The engagement component includes a plate portion and a first engagement feature. The stem extends through an opening in the engagement component and protrudes from the plate portion. The oral care refill head includes an oral care treatment portion and a sleeve portion. The sleeve portion has an inner surface that defines a sleeve cavity having a cavity axis and a second engagement feature. When the oral care refill head is detachably coupled to the handle, the first and second engagement features mate with one another to at least one of: (1) position the oral care refill head and the handle in an operational alignment; and (2) lock the oral care refill head to the handle.
Powered Oral Care Implement Including a Tracking Module and Tracking Module Thereof
An oral care system that includes an oral care implement and a tracking attachment. The oral care implement may include a handle and a head. The tracking attachment is detachably coupled to the oral care implement. The tracking attachment may include a first component comprising a first housing having an inner surface that defines a first cavity and a second component comprising a second housing having an inner surface that defines a second cavity. When the tracking attachment is coupled to the oral care implement, a first portion of the handle is positioned within the first cavity and a second portion of the handle is positioned within the second cavity.
TOOTHBRUSH MOTION ANALYSIS
A method of identifying a toothbrush user from among a plurality of different toothbrush users comprises obtaining data indicative of toothbrush motion relative to at least two axes of the toothbrush and filtering the motion data to extract motion data over a predetermined frequency range, such as within a predetermined frequency passband. A motion component distribution of the filtered motion data is determined, and the motion component distribution is compared with a plurality of user-specific motion component distributions to establish the data as indicative of one of said plurality of users. Toothbrushing data captured by a multi-user toothbrush motion tracking system can thereby be ascribed to a correct user within a cohort of users of the system.
HAIRCARE APPLIANCE
A haircare apparatus has a plurality of capacitive sensors, each capacitive sensor configured to provide a capacitance reading indicative of hair proximal to the haircare apparatus. The haircare apparatus has a moisture estimation module configured to estimate, based on capacitance readings of the plurality of capacitive sensors, a moisture level of the hair proximal to the haircare apparatus.
AN APPARATUS FOR DETECTING ORAL DISEASES AND HAZARDS
The present invention relates to an apparatus comprising an insertion member configured to be inserted to a user's mouth. The insertion member comprises one or more illumination sources, configured to illuminate a part of the user's mouth when inserted thereinto; one or more imaging devices configured to capture images of the user's mouth interior; and a processing module configured to receive images from the one or more imaging devices, process the images to data, and detect oral and/or dental anomalies from the processed images and send the processed images and data via wireless or wired connection to a physician or professional doctor for further analysis.
System and method for detecting movement of a user of an oral health care device and providing feedback
A method and system for reducing distraction of a user (10) of an oral health care device (102), includes: a sensor (112) configured to determine positions of the user during use of the oral health care device; a processor (150) in communication with the sensor and configured to calculate differences between the determined positions and to determine if the differences reach or exceed a threshold value for notifying the user; and a user interface (114) in communication with the processor and configured to alter from a normal state in an event the differences between the determined positions reach or exceed the threshold value for notifying the user.
DENTAL CARE APPARATUS AND METHOD
The invention provides a system for cleaning teeth. The system comprises a smart toothbrush and a smart device. The smart device includes a display. The smart device further comprises a true 3D representation of a user's teeth. The smart toothbrush is arranged to send brushing data to the smart device, and to analyse the brushing data and overlay the brushing data onto the 3D representation of a user's teeth via the display. By providing a true representation of a user's teeth, the system provides a more accurate feedback mechanism to the user, improving the brushing technique of the user.
