Paint composition and filler for such a paint composition
The present invention relates to a filler for a paint composition, wherein the filler comprises a calcinate having particles with an average particle size (d.sub.50, SediGraph III) in the range between 3 m and 50 m and a mullite content of 30-70 measured as mullite index. The invention is characterised in that the bulk density of the filler is >450 g/L. The invention also relates to a paint composition characterised in that it comprises a filler which has a bulk density>450 g/L and comprises a calcinate which has particles with a mean particle size (d.sub.50, SediGraph III) in the range between 3 m and 50 m and a mullite content of 30-70 measured as mullite index. Furthermore, the invention relates to uses of such a filler for the preparation of a paint composition.
CERAMIC DEEP-FRYING DEVICE CAPABLE OF WITHSTANDING HIGH TEMPERATURES AND RELEASING FAR-INFRARED ENERGY AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
A ceramic deep-frying device capable of withstanding high temperatures and releasing far-infrared energy is made by grinding and mixing mullite, spodumene, energy ceramic material, ball clay, and kaolin clay into clay blank; molding the blank into ceramic green body; and sintering the green body at 1250-1320 C. for 18-24 hours. The device is completely immersed in the oil in a deep-frying vessel while leaving a gap between the device and heating pipe in the vessel or the inner bottom wall of the vessel, for enabling the oil to circulate through the through holes in the device due to temperature difference in the oil, causing the energy ceramic material to release anions and far-infrared rays that decrease van der Waals forces between oil molecules, and hence split, the oil molecules, thereby extending the service life of the oil, shortening the deep-frying time required, and lowering the oil content of deep-fried food.
Method and apparatus for thermally debindering a cellular ceramic green body
An apparatus and method for debindering a cellular ceramic green body. The apparatus includes a flow modulation member to selectively restrict circulation of a heated oxygen-containing atmosphere through a top of a cellular core section of the green body. The method includes heating the green body in a circulating oxygen-containing atmosphere while selectively restricting circulation of the atmosphere through the top of the cellular core section of the green body.
CONSTRUCTION UNITS IN FORM OF BRICKS, BLOCKS OR TILES MADE FROM RECYCLABLE MATERIALS AND BY-PRODUCTS, METHODS OF MAKING THE CONSTRUCTION UNITS AND THEIR USE
The invention relates to a construction unit made from various recyclable materials, for example, from recycled waste plasterboard from the construction industry or flue-gas gypsum which is a by-product from fossil-fueled power plants. The construction units are made from a raw mix comprising gypsum, clay and aggregate and methods of making construction units. The invention also relates to a raw mix for making a construction unit; a kit including a construction unit and mortar; and uses of the construction unit to form a structure.
Industrial solid waste based construction and technical ceramics
A ceramic for construction or technical applications, composed of at least one of Municipal Solid Waste Incinerator Bottom Ash (MSWIBA) and other recycled industrial solid waste and different methods of forming such ceramics. Various techniques illustrate how ceramics are formed using at least one of extrusion shaping, dry powder compaction and agglomeration, any of which can be preceded by a pre-treatment process of received feedstock.

Refractory binder system
A refractory formulation containing an anhydrous solvent, an oleophilic rheology modifier and a refractory aggregate exhibits non-thermoplastic behavior, and remains plastic and formable at temperatures in the range of 10 degrees Celsius to 180 degrees Celsius. The oleophilic rheology modifier may effectively bind with the solvent to create a gel-like structure with organic solvents with moderate to high polarity. A phyllosilicate clay that has been treated with a quaternary fatty acid amine may be used as the oleophilic rheology modifier.
LIGHTWEIGHT HIGH-STRENGTH CERAMSITE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A lightweight high-strength ceramsite, comprising solid raw materials and activator as the raw materials, which can be respectively expressed in parts by weight, the solid raw materials: 100 parts, the activator: 1-15 parts; wherein said solid raw materials comprise fly ash: 100 parts, high-alumina fly ash, bauxite and red mud: 6-18 parts, silica fume: 1-5 parts, surfactant: 0.1-3 parts, plasticizer: 6-24 parts; and said activator comprises alkali metal hydroxide: 5-20 parts and alkali metal silicate: 80-95 parts. The lightweight high-strength ceramsite product prepared has a density level of 700-1100 kg/m3 and cylindrical compressive strength of 10-20 MPa, and thus is not susceptible to damage.
ABSORBENT AND PERMEABLE CERAMIC, AND PREPARATION METHOD AND APPLICATION THEREOF
The invention discloses an absorbent and permeable ceramic and a preparation method and application thereof. The absorbent and permeable ceramic is prepared by the steps of: adding water to the following raw components in parts by weight: 1-5 parts of bauxite, 1-3 parts of quartz, 1-3 parts of black soil and 1 part of crude pottery and then kneading evenly; flapping and shaping the evenly kneaded mixed mud; drying the shaped mixed mud under room temperature, biscuiting, supplementing water to wipe out the dust on the surfaces of the mixed mud, and sintering the mixed mud in a redox atmosphere in a kiln to obtain the absorbent and permeable ceramic, wherein the sintering temperature is in the range of 1280-1350 C. and the sintering duration is in the range of 10-12 h. The absorbent and permeable ceramic can be used as an absorbent and permeable ceramic tea tray, the tea tray has the characteristics of being absolutely free of decolorization, blistering or mildewing and does not crack due to high-temperature tea water, and it is convenient to clean residual tea water quickly.
