CERAMIC PRODUCT
A ceramic product can include a decorative film containing noble metal elements and matrix-forming elements. The matrix-forming elements of such a ceramic product can include at least a rare earth element. Thus, in the ceramic product disclosed here, the mass concentration C.sub.N of the noble metal elements obtained in FESEM-EDS analysis of the surface of the decorative film can be 11% or more and 70% or less, and the ratio (C.sub.R/C.sub.N) of the mass concentration C.sub.R of the rare earth elements to the mass concentration C.sub.N of the noble metal elements can be 0.01 or more and 0.18 or less. Since the decorative film of such a ceramic product can have both alkali resistance and acid resistance at a high level, the ceramic product can have sufficient chemical resistance and can prevent the decorative film from being damaged during washing.
Encapsulation of thermal energy storage media
In one embodiment, a method for fabricating a ceramic phase change material capsule includes forming a hollow ceramic capsule body having a filling hole, filling the ceramic capsule body with one or more phase change materials via the filling hole, and closing and sealing the filling hole.
Ceramic tile and method for manufacturing ceramic tiles
Ceramic tile having a ceramic base layer and a cover glaze layer comprising a printed pattern, wherein the surface of the ceramic tile comprises a relief having structural features corresponding to said printed pattern. The invention further concerns a method which allows for the manufacturing of such ceramic tiles.

Method of treating joint in ceramic assembly
A method of forming an improved sealed joint between two or more shaped ceramic structures includes providing at least first and second ceramic structures joined together by a joint comprising one or more of silicon, a silicon alloy and a silicon compound, the joint including an exposed portion interior of the joined structures, then converting at least a portion of the one or more of silicon, a silicon alloy, and a silicon compound of the joint to silicon nitride and/or silicon carbide, desirably at least at an interior exposed portion of the joint, so as to provide increased chemical resistance for the joint when aggressive chemicals are used within device formed from the sealed-together ceramic structures. The ceramic structures desirably comprise silicon carbide.
Ceramic tile
Ceramic tile having a ceramic base layer and a cover glaze layer including a printed pattern, where the surface of the ceramic tile has a relief having structural features corresponding to the printed pattern. The relief being basically formed as a plurality of excavations present in the generally plane upper surface of the ceramic tile and the structural features have a depth such that they are completely situated above the ceramic base layer.
