METHOD OF MANUFACTURING INTER-DENTAL CLEANING TOOL
In order to prevent shaft portion from being broken in ejection of base portion from mold, method for manufacturing interdental cleaning tool includes: base portion forming step of forming base portion by filling first space of primary mold (50) with synthetic resin, which includes first and second mold members (50A, 50B); and cleaning portion forming step of forming cleaning portion around shaft portion by filling second space of secondary mold with elastomer. Base portion forming step uses first and second mold members (50A, 50B). First and second molds include: first and second contact surfaces (51A, 51B); pair of first and second spaced-apart portions (54A, 54B); and first and second connection portions (52A, 52B), angle (0) between each of first and second spaced-apart portions (54A, 54B) and separation plane being acute.
Dental cleaning tool with integrated shield
A dental cleaning tool includes a body portion defining a longitudinal axis of the dental cleaning tool. The body portion includes a floss assembly including a first arm and a second arm extending substantially perpendicularly relative to the longitudinal axis, a receiving slot formed in the first arm, and a shield formed on the first arm. The shield is configured to cover the receiving slot such that access to the receiving slot is restricted from a first direction. The tool also includes a secondary cleaning tool coupled to the first arm. The secondary cleaning tool is pivotable relative to the first arm in at least two degrees of freedom such that the secondary cleaning tool is insertable into the receiving slot from a second direction different than the first direction.
DENTAL CLEANING TOOL WITH SECONDARY CLEANING TOOL AND INTEGRATED SHIELD FOR THE SECONDARY CLEANING TOOL
A dental cleaning tool includes a body portion and a secondary cleaning tool. The body portion includes a floss assembly, a handle, a receiving slot, and a shield. The floss assembly includes a first arm, a second arm, and a bridge segment. The first arm and the second arm extend from the bridge segment. The handle is coupled to the floss assembly and extends from the floss assembly. The receiving slot is formed in the handle. The shield is formed on the handle and is configured to cover the receiving slot such that access to the receiving slot is restricted. The secondary cleaning tool is coupled to the bridge segment and is pivotable relative to the bridge segment in at least two degrees of freedom such that the secondary cleaning tool is insertable into the receiving slot from a second direction different than the first direction.
TOOTHBRUSH WITH PICK UTENSIL
A toothbrush (10) has an elongated handle (12) terminating at one end at an enlarged head and at an opposite, distal portion (16) with an interior chamber (18). The toothbrush also includes a removable pick utensil (24) which is configured to be removably coupled to the elongated handle and partially positioned within the storage chamber. The pick utensil includes a central gripping portion (26), a first end (28) with a first tooth flossing component in the form of a bristle flosser (32), a second end (38) with a second tooth flossing component in the form of a tapered toothpick (42), and a cap (45). The first and second tooth flossing components are generally longitudinally aligned with the handle so that they may both fit within the interior chamber.
INTERDENTAL CLEANER
An interdental cleaner has a rod-shaped support, which is made of plastic and, in one end region thereof, is provided with a cleaning part made of a flexible plastic, and a handle part made of plastic. The support, at a support end facing the handle part, is integrally connected to the handle part in a connection region via a web. The connection region is configured as a joint, and the web is provided at least partially with a sheath made of a flexible plastic. Provision is made here that the web has at least one protruding web rib, and/or that at least one rib is formed on the outer face of the sheath.
Method of using a bristled toothpick assembly
A toothpick assembly including a toothpick and case within which the toothpick is detachably engaged. The toothpick includes a tapered tip which is generally triangular in cross-section having opposed sides connected by a generally flat bottom and an apex. A bristle array is provided on each side and the bottom and apex are free of bristles. The bristle array is configured as a sinuous or serpentine wave. Bristles in each array are smallest closest to an end of the tip and progressively increase in size as you move away therefrom. The toothpick is movable within the case's bore between a fully retracted, a partially extended and a fully extended position. A locking mechanism selectively locks the toothpick in any of these positions. When the toothpick is to be changed, the locking mechanism is disengaged and the toothpick is slid out of the bore and is replaced with a new toothpick.
TOOTHBRUSH
A toothbrush comprises a handle section and a brush head. The handle section further comprises a channel having at least one outlet opening which is fluidly coupled to a toothpaste supply, wherein the toothpaste is conveyed from the toothpaste supply via the channel to the at least one outlet opening via a suction process carried out with a mouth of an user.
DENTAL HYGEINE DEVICE UTILIZING AXIAL FORCES AND RELATED METHODS
Dental hygiene devices that facilitate the ability of a user to engage in one or more oral hygiene actions are disclosed. In an aspect, dental hygiene devices are disclosed that comprise a handle portion that is securely attached to at least one head element in a substantially perpendicular fashion. Such dental hygiene devices may facilitate the ability of a user to clean one or more teeth by moving the head element in a substantially vertical up and/or down direction and/or in a vibratory fashion along one or more surfaces of the teeth to be cleaned. This type of vertical movement may cause less damage to the teeth, particularly at the cementoenamal junction (CEJ), than movements that are substantially horizontal in nature, thereby helping to prevent various types of dental complications, including gingival recession and root dissolution.
