Methods for the Manufacture of Masonry

The invention is directed to compositions and methods for the manufacture of pigmented solids structures for which can be used for construction and/or decoration. Manufacturing comprises fixing one or more pigments to an aggregate material such as crushed rock, stone or sand. The pigmented aggregate is incubated with urease or urease producing microorganisms, an amount of a nitrogen source such as urea, and an amount of calcium source such as calcium chloride forming calcite bridges between particles of aggregate. The resulting solid has a hardness and colorfastness for most any construction material. Using selected aggregate and pigment, the process also provides for the manufacture of simulated-stone materials such as clay or granite bricks or blocks, marble counter-tops, and more. The invention is also directed to composition containing microorganisms and pigment as kits that can be added to most any aggregate materials.

Low Dusting Additive For Joint Compound
20170362482 · 2017-12-21 ·

The present invention relates generally to wall repair compounds such as joint compounds, spackling compounds, and the like used to repair imperfections in walls or fill joints between adjacent wallboard panels. Particularly, the present invention relates to such a wall repair compound comprising a dust reduction additive (DRA) that reduces the quantity of airborne dust generated when the hardened compound is sanded. The dust reduction additive also imparts adhesion to the wall repair compounds to which it is added, for example to a joint compound. More specifically, this dust reduction additive is of sufficiently lighter shade to not impact the shade of the joint compound upon addition. In one embodiment, this invention relates to a non-foaming dust reduction additive that comprises paraffin and/or micro-crystalline wax-based emulsion.

FREE-FLOWING POWDER COMPRISING A POROUS SUBSTRATE FUNCTIONALIZED WITH AT LEAST ONE ACCELERATOR
20230174435 · 2023-06-08 · ·

A free-flowing powder composition includes at least one substrate having pores and an external surface between said pores, said surface functionalized with at least one accelerator for a hydraulic setting composition, said accelerator being liquid, hygroscopic, or deliquescent, and wherein after 15 minutes of immersion of free-flowing powder composition in water at 20° C. at least 80% in weight of said accelerator is solubilized, said free-flowing powder composition being immersed in an amount of water sufficient so that the saturation concentration of said accelerator cannot be reached. There is also a method for preparing said free-flowing powder composition. The use of said free-flowing powder composition as an additive for mortar or concrete composition provides an accelerating effect, an anti-ageing effect and an anti-dusting effect. A dry mortar or concrete composition includes a hydraulic binder, said free-flowing powder composition and a granulate, wet mortar or concrete composition and hardened body obtained therefrom.

ANTI-DUST ADDITIVE COMPOSITION FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL

An anti-dust additive composition for industrial mortars, dry coatings, cements and tile adhesives, includes at least a hydrocarbon fluid, a surfactant and 0.01% to 5% wt of water, preferably from 0.01% to 2% wt, more preferably from 0.01% to 1% wt and even more preferably from 0.05% to 0.5% wt of water. A process of preparation of construction material includes the step of adding the anti-dust additive composition to a material powdery binder. The use of the anti-dust additive composition for decreasing the dust emission during the fabrication of construction material with a material powdery binder and/or during the use of the construction material is also disclosed.
