Asphalt packets, asphalt mixture systems and related methods
A non-tacky asphalt packet in which the surface is coated with a continuous layer of polymer compatible with the asphalt, and which has a surface-to-volume ratio which in the presence of heat makes the asphalt melt in an adequately short time such that when n dispersed in an aggregate mixture allows the asphalt to melt and coat the aggregate uniformly as the aggregate reaches the maximum mix temperature, and prior to degradation of the asphalt due to excessive temperature.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF REINFORCEMENT FIBERS IN PORTLAND AND ASPHALT CEMENT CONCRETE
The present invention relates to a blend of reinforcement fibers for use in a variety of applications. In particular, the blend of reinforcement fibers can be used in cementitious compositions, such as Portland cement concrete and asphalt cement concrete compositions to reduce or preclude voids and/or cracks formed in the cement concrete upon placement. The blend of reinforcement fibers includes a plurality of first fibers and a plurality of different second fibers. The first and second fibers can be different based on coarseness/fineness, melting temperature, denier and specific chemical or material composition. In certain embodiments, one of the plurality of first fibers and the plurality of different second fibers has a melting temperature that is lower than the temperature of an asphalt cement concrete composition such that the plurality of first or different second fibers serves as a carrier/buffer to improve distribution and dispersion of the fibers in the Portland or asphalt cement concrete composition.
ELECTROMAGNETICALLY-INDUCED CEMENT CONCRETE CRACK SELF-HEALING DIISOCYANATE MICROCAPSULES AND THEIR PREPARATION METHOD
Electromagnetically-induced cement concrete crack self-healing diisocyanate microcapsules include raw materials, in parts by weight, comprising 15-55 parts of petroleum resin, 5-10 parts of paraffin, 5-10 parts of polyethylene wax, 3-10 parts of magnetic iron powder and 20-67 parts of diisocyanate. The diisocyanate microcapsules use the diisocyanate as a core material, and the petroleum resin/paraffin/polyethylene wax/magnetic iron powder mixture as the shell of the capsule. When micro cracks occur in the concrete, the crack propagation can break partial of the microcapsule inside, the diisocyanate inside the microcapsules flows out and diffuses into the crack and is subjected to a solidifying reaction with water in the concrete, so that the crack is repaired in time; and for the microcapsules that are not broken by cracks, external electromagnetic field can be applied to melt the shell to release the diisocyanate inside, thereby diffusing into cracks and solidify with water to repair them.

TARGETED DELIVERY OF CONCRETE ADMIXTURE
A sheet 100 of water-soluble material such as polyvinyl alcohol comprises a plurality of individual, sealed pockets 110, each pocket containing concrete admixture. The sheet is cut to size and attached to the interior of a formwork structure 200 with, for example, PVA glue. After concrete is poured into the formwork, covering the sheet 100, the sheet dissolves, releasing the admixture onto the surface of the concrete as it sets. In another arrangement, a sealed container 300 formed from a water-soluble material contains concrete admixture. The external wall of the container has a plurality of regions 320 where a thickness of the wall is reduced. The container is attached to interior walls of a formwork structure 200 or to reinforcing bars inside a formwork structure. After concrete is poured into the formwork, submerging the container, the container dissolves, with the thinner regions dissolving sooner, releasing the admixture into the concrete.
DRY GROUT COMPOSITION AND CAPSULE FOR ANCHORING REINFORCING MEMBER, DOWEL OR ANCHOR ELEMENTS
A dry grout composition including a calcium aluminosulfate based hydraulic cement, a mineral filler, a thixotropic agent, and a superplasticizer agent. Also, an anchoring capsule, containing the dry grout composition, for use in anchoring reinforcing member dowel, or anchor elements in a hole of a substrate, and a method of use.
DEFORMABLE POUCHES FOR ZONAL ISOLATION
A method for plugging or sealing voids in a formation may include introducing deformable pouches enclosing solid particulate materials into a fluid being pumped down the well; and injecting the deformable pouches into the voids of the formation; wherein at least one dimension of the deformable pouches may be between about 1 mm and 100 mm.
DECORATIVE PRODUCT INCLUDING SOLUBLE PACKAGED BLEACH FOR INHIBITING SPOILAGE
A water-soluble texture enhancing composition, including a base powdered composition including powdered calcium carbonate, and a soluble packaged bleach, provided in sufficient quantity so that upon mixing with the base composition and water to form an aqueous slurry, and being agitated, the bleach provides an anti-microbial function for an extended period, preferably up to 80 hours. Also, a process for preparing a textured composition is provided, including providing a base powdered texture composition, providing soluble packaged bleach and mixing same with the base composition, and adding water to create an aqueous slurry, the soluble packaged bleach being provided in sufficient amount for inhibiting microbial growth in the solution for an extended period, preferably up to 80 hours.
ADDITIVE PACK
An additive pack which comprises a water-soluble capsule containing a water-dispersible polymer powder (dispersion powder) is used to prepare aqueous construction materials such as cements and mortars on site, while offering set properties equivalent or superior to ready to mix dry mix formulations.
