A retractable broom comprises a handle section and a broom head section. The handle section includes a retractable handle with one or more movable locking joints including locking mechanisms that are configured to connect and interlock the sections of the retractable handle together. An arm, including a stationary locking joint, having a locking mechanism, at one end of the arm connects and interlocks the retractable handle to the arm. The other end of the arm is fixedly attached to a brush head. The broom head section also comprises a retractable cover and third locking joint with a locking mechanism that connects and interlocks the retractable cover to the arm at two or more positions, with at least one position causing the retractable cover fully cover the brush head and a second position causing the retractable cover to at least partial uncover the brush head.

A broom bracket for a push broom which serves to provide strength between the connection of the handle and the broom block while inhibiting the rotation of the handle relative to the block and any loosening of a threaded connection therebetween.

An illuminated utility handle is disclosed and is configured for coupling to various household work toss, such a broom, a mop, a paint brush/roller, a squeegee, or the like. The illuminated utility handle is formed as an elongate shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end has a coupling for securing the work tool to the illuminated utility handle and one or more lights disposed along the elongate shaft. The one or more lights are oriented to illuminate a work surface operated on by the attachment. A battery source may be carried in the handle and a power switch is operable to selectively activate the one or more lights. The battery source may be recharged by a charging port.

A broom attachment is provided for a rotary sweeper assembly that includes a broom mount and a broom unit mountable to the broom mount. The broom attachment includes a plurality of broom attachment bristles and a support member having a retained portion and a retaining portion. The plurality of bristles extend from the retaining portion and the retained portion is operatively mountable to at least one of the broom mount and the broom unit. A broom assembly includes at least one broom attachment. When the broom attachment is operatively mounted to the broom mount, the broom attachment bristles are positioned at a greater radial distance away from an axis of rotation than the cleaning bristles of the broom unit. A method of assembling a broom attachment to a broom mount includes operatively mounting the retained portion to the broom mount.

A cleaning implement is described, which can have an elongate handle with a proximal end, a distal end, and an interior surface. The interior surface of the elongate handle can define an interior cavity of the elongate handle. An elastic element can be secured within the interior cavity of the handle at the proximal end. A motion rod can also be concentrically secured within the interior cavity of the handle, adjacent to the elastic element. The motion rod can have an exposed end protruding out of the elongate handle at the distal end, and the exposed end can have a tip with a tool attachment feature.

A telescopic handle has a first segment. A second segment slides inside the first segment. A flat surface is formed on the second segment. The flat surface prevents the second segment from rotating within the first segment. A plurality of notches is formed on the flat surface. A pair of locking devices is provided. A first locking device is attached to one end of the first segment. The first locking device is configured to allow the second segment to slide within the first locking device and secure the second segment to the first segment. A second locking device is provided to secure a tool head to a distal end of the second segment.

A surface cleaning implement for use with an elongated handle is provided. The implement includes a largely rectangular and asymmetric body region with rounded outer edges, largely planar upper and lower surfaces, and upstanding contact material coextensively disposed thereon. The body region is a largely flattened structure having a first and second leading edge corner, the corners comprising where the leading edge of the body region transitions to the side edges. A scraping apparatus, including: a gripping assembly, for gripping a stick of a cleaning tool; a bar, extending from the gripping assembly, the bar shaped to include a first section being adjacent and parallel to the broom stick, and a second section being adjacent and parallel to a brush of the broom; a scraping tip disposed at an end of the bar; and a location disposition mechanism, for manually allowing sliding the bar in relation to the broom stick and for manually disallowing the sliding against pressure applied on the scraping tip.
