Compositions and methods for making biocompatible articles are provided. A method includes preparing a 3D printable mixture and depositing successive layers of the mixture in a predetermined pattern to form a porous biocompatible article. The predetermined pattern has a porosity suitable for a bone or cartilage scaffold. Associated 3D printable compositions and porous articles made from the described methods are also described. The preparing a 3D printable mixture can comprise conjugating an alkyne-terminated polymer to a peptide to form a peptide-containing composite, or providing a mixture that comprises a ceramic material and a binder, and wherein the 3D printable mixture comprises from 50 wt. % to 80 wt. % of the ceramic material.

The present disclosure relates to the manufacture of silicon nitride implants with increased surface roughness and porosity.
Method for Enhancing Optical Properties in Ceramics Having Applications in Dental Restorations
A method for enhancing optical properties of sintered, zirconia ceramic bodies and zirconia ceramic dental restorations is provided. The porous or pre-sintered stage of a ceramic body is treated with an yttrium-containing composition and sintered, resulting in sintered ceramic bodies having enhanced optical properties. The enhanced optical properties may be substantially permanent, remaining for the useful life of the sintered ceramic body.
Silicate glass and dental product
The present invention provides a silicate glass that can reduce a color change in base material zirconia even when simultaneously fired with an unsintered zirconia. The present invention also provides a dental product using same. The present invention relates to a silicate glass comprising: 65.0 to 90.0 mol % SiO.sub.2, 4.0 to 15.0 mol % Al.sub.2O.sub.3, 1.0 to 10.0 mol % K.sub.2O, 0.1 to 7.0 mol % Na.sub.2O, and 0.01 to 15.0 mol % CaO, the silicate glass being essentially free of B.sub.2O.sub.3, and satisfying the relation {(number of moles of Al.sub.2O.sub.3)/(total number of moles of RO+R.sub.2O)}≥0.70, wherein R in the metal oxide represented by RO represents a metallic element in group 2 or 12 of the periodic table, and R in the metal oxide represented by R.sub.2O represents a metallic element in group 1 of the periodic table. The present invention also relates to a composite comprising the silicate glass and a base material formed of a ceramic; a sintered body as a fired product of the composite; and a dental product comprising the sintered body.
DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING SELF-HARDENING CALCIUM SILICATE BASED COMPOSITIONS USED IN MEDICAL APPLICATIONS
Delivery and/or injection systems, preferably for medical applications. Especially, a kit of parts for providing a dental composition able to self-hardening. The kit of parts includes a first waterproof container including an anhydrous calcium silicate phase; and a second container including an aqueous phase. The kit of parts may be used in delivery and/or injection systems so that it delivers a homogenous calcium silicate-based composition having a volume ratio between the calcium silicate phase and the aqueous phase ranging from 1 to 3. Also, the hardened material obtained from the kits of parts, the delivery and/or injection system.
TWO-STAGE SINTERING METHOD FOR PREPARING POROUS BIPHASIC CALCIUM PHOSPHATE CERAMIC FROM CALCIUM-CONTAINING BIOLOGICAL WASTE
The present invention relates to a two-stage sintering method for preparing a porous biphasic calcium phosphate ceramic from calcium-containing biological waste, wherein hydroxyapatite prepared from calcium-containing waste is mixed with a foaming agent to prepare a bone graft material having medicinal use through two-stage sintering.
STRUCTURAL IMPLANT FOR BONE REPAIR
Disclosed are composite materials comprising a porous, carbonated, calcium silicate ceramic having a microstructure comprising interconnected open pores; where the calcium silicate surface defining the pores is partially or completely coated with an amorphous silica layer, and the silica coating comprises an overlayer of calcium carbonate crystals; where the silica coating and calcium carbonate overlayer form a network that interconnects throughout the ceramic microstructure, but do not completely occlude the pores. Also disclosed are methods of forming such composite materials.
Dental zirconia blank having high relative density
The present disclosure relates to a dental cutting zirconia blank having high relative density for preparing a dental restoration. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a dental cutting zirconia blank which consists of a zirconia ceramics used for the cutting with the CAD/CAM system in the dental field, a semi-sinter zirconia blank (pre-sintered body) of which has high relative density, and which can provide a prosthesis device having high aesthetics after sintering. There is provided a dental cutting zirconia blank wherein the dental cutting zirconia blank has at least one layer consisting of zirconia powder containing 4 to 15 mol % of yttria or erbium oxide as a stabilizer, a relationship among pre-sintering density, final-sintering density and relative density satisfies the following relation:
54≤Relative density(%)={(Pre-sintering density)/(Perfect-sintering density)}×100≤70.
