Cementitious Composition With High Bond Strength To Both Asphalt And Cement Based Materials
A cementitious composition of one embodiment, according to the present teaching, includes, but is not limited to, a Portland cement, and at least one other cement from a group comprising, but not limited to, calcium sulfoaluminate cement, a calcium aluminosilicate cement, and calcium aluminate, wherein the Portland cement has a content of at least 20 percent based on the total weight of the non-Portland hydratable cement powder, wherein the cementitious composition bonds to asphalt.
MINERAL FIBRE INSULATION
A mineral wool insulating product having improved off gassing characteristics is particularly adapted for high temperature applications.
PERVIOUS CONCRETE HAVING A SUPER-ABSORBENT POLYMER
A pervious concrete composition comprising a superabsorbent polymer in a proportion of 0.03 0.07 wt. % cement, preferably about 0.045 wt. % of cement, thereby enabling a water:cement ratio of 0.35 0.50. The superabsorbent polymer can be a cross-linked sodium polyacrylate-acrylamide/acrylic acid copolymer, and is introduced in powdered form to a concrete mix, wherein it is hydrated during the mixing process. The pervious concrete compositions herein can therefore be made with a desirable water:cement ratio and without the need for water-reducers or viscosity modifying additives. The invention further comprises methods of in stalling the pervious concrete compositions.
ADDITIVE FOR HYDRAULIC BINDER USEFUL TO PREVENT THE FORMATION OF RUST-COLORED STAINS AT THE SURFACE OF HYDRAULIC COMPOSITIONS
A method for preventing formation of rust-colored stains on the surface of a hydraulic composition includes mixing the hydraulic composition with an additive for hydraulic binder including at least a dialkanolamine including from 2 to 8 carbon atoms, and at least a polyol preferably chosen from a diol, a triol, a tetraol and mixtures thereof. Other uses include a grinding aid for hydraulic binder precursor, and/or improving the compressive strength of a set hydraulic composition.
MINERAL FIBRE INSULATION
A mineral wool insulating product having improved off gassing characteristics is particularly adapted for high temperature applications.
USE OF SACRIFICIAL AGENTS IN MANUFACTURE OF GYPSUM WALLBOARD
The present invention relates to the use of sacrificial agents to counteract the deleterious impact of gypsum contaminants on the effectiveness of certain stucco additives, particularly, water reducing agents and foaming agents, in a stucco slurry used to make gypsum wallboard.
LUMINESCENT CONCRETE COMPOSITION AND PRODUCT
Luminescent concrete compositions containing cement, fine aggregates such as sand, and a phosphor such as strontium aluminate. Glow-in-the-dark concrete products made therefrom and methods of producing such concrete products are also specified. The glow-in-the-dark concrete products demonstrate good mechanical strength (e.g. compressive strength) and skid resistance. The addition of phosphorescent strontium aluminate provides luminance that persists for up to 10 hours to the concrete products.
Aqueous thermo-thickening resin solutions
Provided are aqueous resin solutions having unique rheologies and products incorporating the same. The water-based materials provided herein are thermo-thickening, and the materials increase dramatically in viscosity (at least 100 times) in a desired temperature range increase (20 C to <100 C) at ambient pressure. Suitable resins comprising a hydrophobic group and a hydrophilic group may be selected from an epoxy resin, a phenol-formaldehyde resin, a polyurethane resin, an acrylic resin, a polyester resin, an acrylic-urethane resin, a melamine resin, a melamine-formaldehyde resin, an amino resin, and combinations thereof. A specific epoxy functional resin/polymer suitable for the resin solutions are prepared by reacting (A) an epoxy pre-polymer of (1) one or more polyols and (2) one or more epoxy functional materials with (B) a di- or polyamine, thereby forming the aqueous thermo-thickening resin solution. The resin solutions are substantially free of cross-linking agents.
ASPHALT COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF FORMING THE SAME
An asphalt composition includes asphalt, a non-epoxidized oil chosen from flux oils, bio oils, recycled motor oils, liquid plasticizers, and combinations thereof, and a polyolefin. The polyolefin has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from about 1,000 to about 20,000 g/mol, an optional acid number of from about 10 to about 50 mg KOH/g, an optional saponification number of from about 10 to about 100 mg KOH/g, and a density of from about 0.92 to about 1 g/cm.sup.3. The asphalt composition has a performance grade of PG (52 to 88) and (22 to 40), wherein (52 to 88) is an average seven day maximum pavement design temperature in degrees Celsius and represents deformation resistance and (22 to 40) is an average one day minimum pavement design temperature in degrees Celsius and represents thermal cracking resistance, each as determined using AASHTO M320.
