EXTERIOR SHEATHING PANEL WITH INTEGRATED AIR/WATER BARRIER MEMBRANE
An exterior sheathing cementitious panel which prevents water penetration and air leakage is provided. Methods for manufacturing exterior sheathing cementitious panels with a highly efficient integrated air/water barrier membrane are provided as well.
Dry mortar mixture with grains of expanded glass
Dry mortar mixture characterized by a glass mixture of expanded glass beads with a grain size d/D 0/8, mixed in a ratio of between 1:1 and 1:3, with a binding mixture of hydraulic binders and stone granules in the weight ratio of 1:2 to 1:4. The glass has a discontinuous grain distribution. For the glass mixture the fractions 0.5/1.0 and 2.0/4.0 are present while a fraction intermediate other fractions are absent. Preferably the fractions 0.25/0.5 and 1.0/2.0 are absent. For the glass mixture preferably all grain sizes between 1.0 and 2.0 mm are absent. The grain size distribution is around an average, so that an open structure is obtained.
Carbon dioxide treatment of concrete upstream from product mold
Fresh concrete is treated with carbon dioxide prior to delivery to a product mold for forming concrete products. Carbon dioxide gas is directed through a manifold, which may be coupled to a feedbox or a hopper, upstream from the product mold. Treating the fresh concrete with the carbon dioxide gas while it is in a loose state prior to placement in the product mold may generally promote uniform and enhanced carbon dioxide uptake.
Contact layer with a solid filler component
A contact layer used in waterproofing and roofing applications. The contact layer includes a solid filler component F and a thermoplastic polymer component P. Also directed to a method for producing the contact layer, to a method for binding two substrates to each other, to a method for waterproofing a substrate, to a waterproofed structure, to a method for sealing a surface against water penetration, to a sealed construction for sealing a substrate against water penetration and to use of the contact layer as waterproofing membrane.
Gypsum panels, systems, and methods
Gypsum panels and methods of making gypsum panels are provided. Methods of making gypsum panels include: depositing a first gypsum slurry onto a first surface of a first fiberglass mat; allowing the first gypsum slurry to set to form at least a portion of a gypsum core; and applying a substantially continuous barrier coating comprising a polymer binder to a second surface, opposite the first surface, of the first fiberglass mat, in an amount of from about 1 lb/MSF to about 40 lb/MSF, such that the substantially continuous barrier coating has an average thickness of from about 1 micron to about 100 microns, wherein the substantially continuous barrier coating eliminates at least 99 percent of pin holes present in the exposed second surface of the first fiberglass mat.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPOSITE BUILDING MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
Multifunctional composite building materials, which are obtained by mixing nano silicon dioxide, nano titanium dioxide, nano aluminum oxide and nano zinc oxide with nano nickel-cobalt ferrite or nano nickel-zinc ferrite; surface active agent; air entrained agent such as diethanolamine lauryl sulphonate, protein extracts, pulp waste liquid, diatomite; kumgang medical stone; viscosifier such as hydroxyl ethyl cellulose and foam elimination agent such as tributylphosphoric acid ester or butanol in a certain ratio.
Coating systems for cement composite articles
A method for making a coating composition by mixing one or more latex polymers and an aliphatic epoxy resin system having an epoxy equivalent weight less than 1000 and being distinct from the one or more latex polymers to provide an aqueous first component, and providing a second component having reactive groups that can react with the one or more epoxy resins. A mixture of the first and second components provides a film-forming curable coating composition that may be used on substrates including cement, cement fiberboard, wood, metal, plastic, ceramic, glass and composites.
Method for producing a hydrophobic heat-insulating molded body
Process for the production of a hydrophobic thermal-insulation moulding, where a hydrophilic thermal-insulation moulding is brought into contact with a hydrophobizing agent in vapour form with formation of a thermal-insulation moulding coated with hydrophobizing agent, and this is then subjected to a press process and during the press process and/or after the press process is reacted with the hydrophobizing agent with formation of the hydrophobic thermal-insulation moulding, where a) the density of the hydrophobic thermal-insulation moulding after the press process and after the reaction with the hydrophobizing agent is from 100 to 250 kg/m.sup.3, and b) the density of the hydrophilic thermal-insulation moulding on contact with the hydrophobizing agent is from 50% to less than 100% of the density of the hydrophobic thermal-insulation moulding.
INORGANIC PHOSPHATE CERAMICS AND COATINGS
This disclosure relates to hydrophobic metal phosphate ceramic comprising a Group IV element of silicon, germanium, tin, or lead having at least one hydrocarbon covalently bonded thereto. Methods of providing water proofing and/or anti-corrosion protection are provided.
