Engineered hybrid cement-based composition with increased wetting resistance
The present invention relates to a hydrophobic cement-based material composition comprising a bacterial biofilm, or at least one hydrophobicity-conveying component of a bacterial biofilm, an additive for a cement-based material composition comprising a bacterial biofilm or at least one hydrophobicity-conveying component of a bacterial biofilm and the use of such biofilm or component therefore for decreasing the wettability of a cement-based material.
Hybrid coating for roof applications
Embodiments may include a coated granule for roofing systems. The coated granule may include an aluminum silicate granule and a coating disposed on the aluminum silicate granule. The coating may include a copolymer and a siloxane-based or a silane-based compound. The copolymer may be a cationic fluorinated (meth)acrylic copolymer. The aluminum silicate granule may have a particle size in a range from 0.2 mm to 2.4 mm. The aluminum silicate granule may have a 65% or greater reflectivity. The coated granule may repel oil and maintain its reflectivity better than with other techniques.
SHEAR PANEL BUILDING MATERIAL
A shear panel building material that includes a first facing membrane, a core matrix disposed on a face of the first facing membrane, and a semi-rigid or rigid material attached to the core matrix. The core matrix can include microspheres having a size of about 200 microns to about 800 microns, sodium silicate, and ethylene vinyl acetate. In one aspect, the shear panel is substantially free from glue and cement.
GYPSUM PANELS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Gypsum panels and methods of making the same are provided. A method of making a gypsum panel includes forming a first gypsum slurry by combining stucco, water, a siliconate, and a phosphate salt or polymer, and setting the first gypsum slurry to form at least part of a core of the gypsum panel, wherein the gypsum panel displays a 2-hour water absorption test weight increase of at least 10 weight percent less than an otherwise identical comparative panel containing no phosphate salt or polymer in its core.
CORE-HYDROPHOBIC THERMAL INSULATION SHEET HAVING HARDENED SURFACE
Silicon dioxide-containing thermal-insulation sheet hydrophobized throughout with hardened surface, wherein the compressive stress at fracture measured on the sheet surface is higher than the compressive stress at fracture measured on the sectional surface in the middle cross section of the sheet parallel to the sheet surface, at, in each case, the same penetration depths of the measurement probe in the test specimen.
ULTRA STABLE CEMENTITIOUS MATERIAL FORMULATION, PROCESS FOR ITS MAKING, AND ULTRA STABLE TILE BACKER BOARD FORMULATION AND PROCESSES FOR ITS MAKING
An ultrastable cementitious material with nano-molecular veneer makes a cementitious material by blending 29 wt % to 40 wt % of a magnesium oxide dry powder containing 80 wt % to 98 wt % of magnesium oxide based on a final total weight of the cementitious material, with 14 wt % to 18 wt % of a magnesium chloride dissolved in water and reacting to form a liquid suspension, mixing from 2 to 10 minutes, adding a phosphorus-containing material, and allowing the liquid suspension to react into an amorphous phase cementitious material, wherein a portion of the amorphous phase cementitious material grows a plurality of crystals. The plurality of crystals are encapsulated by the amorphous phase cementitious material forming a nano-molecular veneer. A process to make the ultrastable cementitious material. A tile backer board incorporating the ulstrastable cementitious material and a process for making the tile backer board.
Exterior sheathing panel with integrated air/water barrier membrane
An exterior sheathing cementitious panel which prevents water penetration and air leakage is provided. Methods for manufacturing exterior sheathing cementitious panels with a highly efficient integrated air/water barrier membrane are provided as well.
DRYING PROCESS
The present invention refers to a process for making a calcium carbonate containing material, wherein the process includes a specific drying procedure and allows for the provision of calcium carbonate materials with reduced moisture pick-up and low porosity.
ASPHALT CONCRETE COMPOSITION HAVING IMPROVED WATERPROOF PERFORMANCE BY COMPRISING SIS, RECYCLED ASPHALT AGGREGATE, AND FINE POWDER AGGREGATE WITH IMPROVED PARTICLE SIZE, AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD USING THE SAME
An asphalt concrete composition having improved waterproof performance, and a construction method using the composition. The composition includes 100 parts by weight of virgin asphalt, 5 to 25 parts by weight of styrene isoprene styrene, 5 to 15 parts by weight of petroleum resin, 250 to 1,000 parts by weight of reclaimed asphalt pavement, 1 to 10 parts by of a performance improving agent, 250 to 1,000 parts by weight of virgin aggregate, 30 to 150 parts by weight of fine powder aggregate, and 0.1 to 2 parts by weight of cellulose fiber. The composition's waterproof performance is due to its high cohesion and adhesion. The composition is durable and is not easily rutted, aged and/or stripped. In addition, the composition has a performance grade of PG 82-34, can prevent water penetration and potholes, and enables a placement process to be easily performed at low costs.
HYDROPHOBIZED FIBER CEMENT PRODUCTS, METHODS FOR PRODUCTION, AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates hydrophobized fiber cement products and methods for the production thereof as well as uses of such products, in particular in the building industry. In particular, the present invention provides hydrophobized fiber cement product, comprising a fiber cementitious matrix and a hydrophobizing agent uniformly dispersed therein, wherein said hydrophobizing agent comprises at least one hydrophobic silicone resin having a three-dimensional molecular network structure. The present invention further provides processes for producing a hydrophobized fiber cement product with enhanced water impermeability, wherein said process comprises at least the steps of: a) admixing an inorganic curable cementitious matrix with a hydrophobizing agent to form a curable mixture, wherein said hydrophobizing agent comprises at least one hydrophobic silicone resin having a three-dimensional molecular network structure, b) transforming the curable mixture into a shaped body; and c) curing the curable mixture to form a uniformly hydrophobized fiber cement product.
